I'm not sure what kind of loads people put on their hitches but this is burlier than I'll ever need. Nice clean welds throughout. My Vine version didn't include a stabilizer clamp so I'll still need to chase one down before I use this on any longer trips.

the 2" receiver is coated with a bumpy paint so the hitch ball is now stock and I will need to oiled and hammer out to be able to take the hitch ball out. so from 1 to 10 I will give a 4.

We needed a hitch extender because someone (definitely not me... I think) turned too sharply backing up our pop up trailer and creased the bumper. This is rated at a full Class II/III and is made very well. The metal is straight, welded along all seams, and has a corrosion-resistant wrinkle coating. It has worked great for our little trailer. That said, it is slightly thinner metal than other Class III hitches and accessories we have (see photo). For our needs, this is fine. For people hauling max load, you may want to consider this factor.I hope you found this review helpful.

So, to start, this hitch extension is heavy and solid, just like you want to see. It is powder coated, so it looks nice for the time being. But also because it is powder coated I had to tap it into my receiver hitch with a rubber mallet. Then I basically had to do the same to get my bike rack into the extender. The extender slid right out of the receiver on the car, but my bike rack feels like it might be permanently wedded to the extender. I mean it just ain’t coming out. But that’s OK really, because it’s not like I’m going to use it without the extender on my new car and take a chance on scratching the cargo door. So it’s fine. This thing does just what I wanted, which was to get my rack 9” farther away from my car. It also feels like it will hold solidly.Five stars.

This review is for the POZENE 14.6" Hitch Extender. I plan on using this with my tailgate platform carrier that has a very short receiver shank. I also have an EMCOMM antenna hitch mount that I’d like to move further away from the truck body. This is a nicely finished hitch extender for Class III/IV hitches. The finish is a relatively hard crinkle surface that can take dropping without chipping. The receiver end (the part that goes into the vehicle receiver) was miked out to a wall thickness of 0.017in., and 1.998in square. The back end (where you insert your device, once the extender is mounted to the car) miked out to a 2.012in I.D., and a wall thickness of 0.40in., at the lip. There is a raised lip at the opening to take a little more abuse without deforming. Past the raised lip, the tube goes back down to a 0.017in thickness.Beware of the internal finishing, there were some metal shards internal to the large end that were extremely sharp. I’d take a long file and make sure to knock down any welding flash near the ends so you don’t get stuck accidentelly. This is a sturdy hitch extender, and would be a good buy for a hitch extender, whatever your use.

Too Weak – NOT MADE OF INDUSTRY STANDARD ¼” SQUARE TUBING – RETURNEDThis Trailer Hitch Extension Tube is too weak because it IS NOT made of industry standard ¼” thick Square Tubing. Hanging out away from the vehicle receiver tube means that it has to be stronger because of the extra force on a longer lever arm. I returned this poor quality poor design product.
