Because of their simple design, pintle hitches are able to have thicker metal construction and more secure coupling. CURT has a wide variety of pintle hitches and pintle-style products to give you a complete solution for your heavy-duty towing needs. This adjustable pintle mount is designed to accept a bolt-on pintle hook or combination ball and pintle. It features a series of mounting holes to provide six different mounting heights for the hook and can be mounted in any 2" x 2" receiver tube opening. This pintle mount offers a gross trailer weight capacity up to 10,000 lbs. and features a total plate height of 13", providing up to 11-1/2" of drop (NOTE: Not for use in rise position; never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc). The heavyweight towing done with pintle hitches implies a certain amount of wear and tear on your towing equipment, and to prepare for this, CURT uses a quality finish on all our pintle mounts, lunette eyes and combination pintle hitches. This pintle mount is coated in a tough black carbide powder coat finish to provide the perfect amount of rust and scratch resistance needed to face the heavy-duty towing you do every day.

I put this pintle mount on the front end of my K2500 Suburban, and I use it as a push bumper for moving things around in my yard. It is bullet-proof and bomb-proof and does the job very well.

The fulfillment center properly marked the package as heavy but put nothing in the box to keep the hitch from blowing through box wall and getting scratched by the box throwers. Could have really hurt someone.

Pictured in the site is MADE in USA, but received one MADE IN CHINA, misleading description posted, also packed very poorly that the item is already outside the box and has multiple damages occurred. If knew that is not Made in USA I would not purchase this item, CURT is best known made local here in the USA.

Curt Mfg used to be a reputable company that made quality parts here in the USA. Unfortunately this product carrying Curt's name is made in China. I ordered this pintle plate thinking it would be a good quality product but the welds and straightness are sub-par. Noteworthy is this plate has a 10k pound capacity vs the 8k pound capacity of the similar Tow Ready pintle plate.

The shank is very heavy and high quality. Very happy... and of course if anyone ever decides to rear end my truck they will pay the price when they hit the hitch mounted to this receiver shank.
