The replace step rug springs appear to be the same as the original springs and work equally well. I buy small rugs at a box store and using a grommet kit from Harbor freight I can make two step rugs from the purchased rug for the price of one step rug. The springs can reused many times.

These springs are a lot stronger than original. They hold very well. Only draw back is they are hard to put on. Ware safety glasses and gloves when installing.
