I put this on a 2012 HD TriGlide, running 80/140 syn gear oil. First I want to say how much I liked the drive train response with this type of primary chain tensioner concept. Shifting was like butter and finding neutral even at a stop was a breeze! Opened up the primary today after approximately 1300 miles and from the pics this is what I found, although nothing catastrophic I feel the deep set grooves worn on the crankshaft end is excessive when you consider that there is less than a 1/4” of material(see pic with stick showing how much surface material is actually there) before the chain will have no buffer between it and open air, at least in the front, the rear was holding up much better, but still once the front breaks through the chain will just start sawing through rapidly I’m sure. At this point I’ll most likely put the stock one back on, only did this so as to prevent early trans and crankshaft wear.

Works well- does not come with instructions- pry nylon skid pad out of aluminum housing using a screwdriver at the bottom, place both springs one inside of the other below pad, press pad back in - make sure it is free to move and applies sufficient tension to the chain or the chain can derail and cause a crash due to rear wheel lockup - be careful and make sure you know what you are doing !

Bought this to replace the factory tensioner in my 2012 ElectraGlide Ultra. It was noisier, but I expected that after reading reviews, but reviews said it got quieter. That's not my experience. the more miles I put on, the louder it got. Last weekend I rode from Kansas to Wisconsin to visit a friend and install a cam upgrade. While it was on the rack, we decided to open the primary to investigate. what you see in the picture is what we found. This tensioner shoe only has about 5,000 miles on it! The material it's made from isn't durable at all, and the shoe is hollow. If we hadn't looked at it, this would have worn through and cause major damage on my 870 mile ride home. Do NOT buy a Hayden knock-off! I grabbed an OEM tensioner at the dealer there. If you want a Hayden M6, wait until retailers have them back in stock. Everyone was out of stock, which is what pushed me to get this cheap POS. Almost a potentially dangerous mistake. Stay away from these knock-offs.

Seems heavy. We will see how long it last. Plastic is about half the size of OEM. Mounting metal frame part is heavy duty. I only installed the large spring and the thinner sim. It put my chain perfectly within specs. I think this setup will work well👌.

Was easy to install. Some of the metal edges were a little sharp so I filed them down to ensure smooth gliding of the shoe. We'll see how it performs after some miles. Pleased so far!

I actually had a Hayden tensioner for About a year. It worked great till the shoe broke in half. I decided to give this one a try. It’s been on about a month and this past weekend I pulled the primary cover just to check out the wear and see if I needed to add the shims which I did, and everything seems to be working perfect. At half the price of its competitor it’s a no brainer if you’re doing a manual tensioner.
