If you want to get a clear understanding of how many times your house experiences a power outage, it is the unit for you. Every time the power to your house has the smallest glitch, this unit shuts “off” the timer function and stays off. I discovered that we receive at least one power glitch per day. Very frustrating. I’m going back to the old mechanical timers. The lcd screen is not bright enough either, hard to see at night. Other than the main function failing once a day, it looks great hanging on the wall.

The person that made the YouTube video clearly knows how to set the timer, but has no idea of how to demonstrate or teach people who are not familiar. Yes, his diction is clear but his demonstration is so fast it is impossible to watch the screen and which buttons being pushed at the same time.

This timer is missing a simple but essential feature that has been in all the outlet timers I have owned over several decades - manual mode. This timer is always in "timer" mode. There is no way to turn this off so you can turn the the electrical appliance (such as a lamp) using the controls on the appliance. Instead, you have to reach down to the timer, which may be located in an inconvenient location such as under a table, and push the on/off switch. "On" powers the appliance but it will go off at the next time period; "off" turns off power but it will go back on at the next time period. Very inconvenient.

The timer can be used to turn your tea kettle on first thing in the morning. Also great as a random vacation timer.
