Add an additional privacy lock to your interior doors with this flip action door lock. The hinged portion of the reversible lock flips over the door to lock, and it can be used for right or left-handed swing-in doors. An anti-lock out screw is included for child safe mode, preventing the lock from engaging on its own, for additional child safety measures. This lock should be installed high on the door. Installation is quick and easy, and the flip action door lock fastens to the door jamb with two screws. It’s a surface mount installation with no mortising required. Made of antique brass, this door lock is strong and durable, sure to last the test of time.

I'd never rely on this for security, as the metal and the construction really don't seem up to a physical assault. But for childproofing purposes, it works great, installs easily and is nicely low-profile. I plan to order a couple more.

This is a POS lock. It is so flimsy and cheap it ridiculous. This might be secure enough for your 5 yr old but thats it.

Somewhat flimsy stamped metal led to unsmooth action and shakey lock down.I would buy the more substantial version of the same hardware hoping to get smooth pivoting and solid lockdown in its slot.

I have had these in the past and knew that they were a great security feature that doesn't result in fumbling for a chain or hearing the door open. I'm not certain how it'd fare if someone tried to kick the door in, but I do know that it'd cause enough noise to let me know if someone was there. Its a simple, and small security feature that gives me peace of mind at night. Very easy to install and works.
