This is a must have. The sad thing is it does not come with the grill and it is a 50 dollar option. If you want 2 true cooking zones(and who doesn't at times) ya gotta get this. And folks as a tip use the left side as your hot zone. Being a KCBS competition cook and master judge I wanted most of the bells and whistles so I have invested a couple hundred dollars in accessories and I strongly recommend you also take a look at what BBQ Guru has for constant temp control. Another must have for your long cooks. I went with these guys but there are also other vendors of similar products. You can buy it on Amazon. A tad pricey but it saves a lot of heartache and will prevent those dreaded temp spikes. This grill is like buying a Harley Davidson....Who doesn't want to spice up their bike(or grill) with cool accessories?

it is made for Primo XL and fits perfectly. Nothing spectacular. Divides the firebox in 1/2. Note that the temps can still exceed 500 deg with only a half a firebox of coals.

I purchased this for my dad on Father's Day and he absolutely loves it. Often times he just wants to grill out for a few guests that he has over and this allows him to make a smaller fire on just one side of the grill. He also loves to cook/smoke ribs and brisket so this enables him to make the fire on one side and then cook the food with indirect heat on the other side.

This cast iron divider does its job. It splits the fire box of the Primo into two sections so that you can build your fire on one side in order have the ability to use indirect heat while cooking. This is one of the main reasons that I opted for the Primo XL over the smaller Primo.
