First. I will say this slide is a little on the light side for a sliding hammer but honestly it does a great job for the price. I’ve used it a few times already and it did what I needed. Now if I’m working on something old, rusted and fuzed together it will probably struggle. But you have to put the price point on that. So I can’t blame this kit for that. So yes it’s not tool truck quality but it also doesn’t have the tool truck price. I like it for certain situations. No complaints.

I don't need a slide hammer often, but when I do, the last thing i want to do, is run to the parts store to rent one.. they're always missing something or the one piece you needed has damaged threads.. for the price, this tool is a fantastic buy. pulling hubs off my michigan car is a breeze. the only thing i wish this kit has was the fingers to pull bearing races, but luckily those can be bought on their own should i need one.

I was working on my 1972 240z e-brake cable. The FSM says you have to remove the drive shaft and possibly the rear end to get to the two clips holding the cable in place. I had just completely refurbished the entire rear end and did not want to remove anything. The e-brake cable became an issue when I coukd not adjust the e-brake due too a stretched cable. The slide hammer came with a hook attachment. It was a bit too thick to get it up in there. I ended up grinding a bit of the profile so the hook fit up behind the clips. It was not effortless and took quite a few whacks with the slide hammer but success was sure sweet. All put back together and I didn't have to remove anything. Slide hammers are nice to have in the shop. Worked as it should.

I got this because it says it's a 5.5 lb slide hammer. I'm assuming they're counting the weight of the hammer AND the handle in that claim as it's very obvious when holding it that it's nowhere near a 5.5 lb hammer. The seal puller is crooked, not sure if it's the tool or the threads but it goes on very lopsided. The threads for the that and the hub puller are very poorly cut so there's a ton of wobble between the hammer handle and the tools. They also shed tiny pieces of metal all over you when you handle them which is annoying at best. The seal pullers are painted black so the threads are much tighter, one took some muscle to get it threaded onto the handle but was easier the second time so I'm assuming when the paint wears off they'll be wobbly as well. I have a ton of tools from tool trucks from when I was a tech and compared to those this set is a joke. But this set also costs a lot less than anything you'd find on a tool truck so if you need this kit for what it's meant to do then it might be worth it. But I wouldn't expect it to last for more than a few uses based off of the poor casting of the hub and seal pullers. Also that little hammer isn't going to be much help.

I purchased this slide hammer/bearing remover because I needed one in a pinch to get my vehicle back on the road.I'll start by giving the Pros.......Okay. Now that I've got that out of the way, let's talk about what I didn't like. The weight provided with the slide hammer is useless. It is way too lightweight to create any meaningful momentum to do what you need it to do.The T-handle fell out of the hammer on the very first pull back..The wrist pin fell out of the bearing remover attachment on the very first pull back. The removers are completely useless as they are either not wide enough to span the diameter of the race, or are too big, and don't lend themselves to a proper fit.The foot that attaches to lugnuts/threads is way off, and doesn't fit securely. What's worse is it actually started to bend on the first or second pull. Completely unsatisfactory, as well as unsafe. Any more stress on it, and it most likely would catastrophically fail. A complete no-go.The clasps on the case have no real clamping power, and flip open if you so much as sneeze on them.I'm not returning the set I purchased because I was in a bind, and had to modify the slide hammer to make it work to get my vehicle un-stuck. But I would not recommend purchasing this tool.If you have the luxury of being able to wait for a better quality tool - even if it costs a little more, I would suggest doing so.Don't mean to be rough with this review; but the quality of this slide hammer made my job exponentially more difficult to finish.
