The product is fine. However, the packaging was crap. The packaging was covered in petroleum jelly. It was a mess to clean up.

I've had this remote a few years. Recently, the cable stopped transmitting, but Promaster's warranty is wonderful. In a very short time, they shipped a brand new cable to me, and the whole remote works just like new again.

Purchased it because it was inexpensive. Works great. Two piece design allows you to have a short tether or a long one. Great option to have. So far no compliants.

The item probably doesn't compare to the rigidness of the Nikon MC-36 or the MC-30 (Hence the 4 star rating not 5) but you get it for a fraction of the price of the other two and if you take care of it I suspect it to last a lifetime!The cord is long enough to release the shutter while standing in the shot (around 5 feet).Update:Item broke down. Doesn't work properly now except when the wire is fiddled with. Going to by the MC-30 instead.
