I ended up returning these because they were way too large on me. They seemed like they would provide good protection but even the small was too big.

I've been learning to ice skate and after injuring my tail bone, my rear end can't take hitting the ice anymore. The pads are dense and give great protection. I've had several falls with no pain thanks to the padding on these shorts. I wear them under my sweat pants. I'm 5' 7" and 140lbs. The medium size fits perfectly.

Terrible. These things left bad rashes on the back of my legs. No matter what I did they didn't fit properly. I wear a size 40 pant and ordered large but I'm pretty sure I needed a medium... even still though I just didn't like them at all. I bought these for fall protection, but I'll be trying something else.

Got these to help me get back into skating. I used to rollerblade, and using quad skates is waaaaaau different. Cracked my bum really good about a week in. Had a bruise for about 3 weeks, so I wanted to get something with more padding. These shorts have hard padding where it is needed. Love them.

Had last season and glad I did not have to use as much...but when I did have some falls, nothing to complaint after during the night. 6 days snowboarding and gave me lots of confidence so bought a new one for my son for this season.

These shorts are awesome!! I use these for snowboarding, and if you are a beginner (like me..), then you'll be on your backside about 1,000 times. After falling for about the 500th time, your backside and hips start to send very unpleasant messages, which may or may not contain certain expletives to central command inside your brain causing you to grit your teeth, and question certain life choices while your eye twitches as you lay there in the snow on your back, wondering if you'll be able to get up (or down the mountain..). Now...while these shorts can't help you with the falling down part...they CAN help alleviate most of the pain associated with the inevitable falls. Making the learning process much more pleasant and fun. The padding is very ridged to the touch, BUT it works very well on the falls. Again.. it is stiff, but the padding looks like small individual octagon pillars all spaced together with about a 1/16th of an inch between them, all held together over the top with a heavy nylon mesh. The padding is almost an inch thick and is smooth along the edges so it is easy to slid your snow pants on and off. The padding takes some getting used to when wearing it. But I also ride road bikes and am used to wearing cycling bibs with Chamois...So...I got used to it very fast. Obviously, you wear this under your snow pants. Mine fit great. The sizing was spot on. I saw no blemishes in the fabric or the stitching; AND I am happy to report that my brain did not receive any negative feedback from my tailbone or other backside regions during use. I would HIGHLY recommend these to anyone starting out snowboarding. Don't be foolish! It's not worth the pain. Snowboarding is SOOOO much more enjoyable now. THANK YOU!!

Could be my personal dimensions but the padding doesn't really work for me. I'm tall and skinny (6', 155lbs) I got a size medium and it otherwise fit me perfectly.See my pic, that blue line between the waist band and the pad is about 1.5". I wish they didnt put such a large gap there because it causes the pad to just barely protect my tail bone. If the shorts shift at all during use (which they are likely to do while being active) they would likely not even cover my tail bone. So put on something that fits similarly like a base layer pant and maybe take notice of where the waist band falls in relation to your tail bone if that's what you're trying to protect.I wanted these for snowboarding and they otherwise fit great. Not too bulky and fit nicely under snow pants. Definitely seem like good quality.
