I think they can handle some fair weight lifting. I don't have 880 pounds laying around to test them on but a sailing back ground on 30 to 40 ft. sailboats, has given me some hands on experience using this type of device. The studs holding the swivel eye are not the normal solid shaft rivet but threaded Philips head screws that have been lock welded in place. These would have a larger load capacity if the attaching shaft diameter was solid in stead of being threaded. The first thread under the screw head will be the breaking point if it comes to failure. I'm going to limit them to about 500# of work load when the time comes. An update will be posted when big loads are available. For garage use they should be fine. I'll give them 4 stars.

Besides being a great price these are very durable and I'll be ordering more soon to have on hand.

I have a lot of backpacking/camping gear and a few years ago, I started hanging them from the rafters in my barn to keep them out of the way _and_ to make them somewhat less accessible to mice. I originally used some hooks to hang them but I started to use pulleys a couple of years ago to make lifting them easier. While most of these groups of materials weight less than 75lb, there are a couple that are heavier. Pulling these heavier loads can be difficult, mostly because the ropes I'm using are 1/4 to 3/8th inch in diameter and the heavier weights can painfully cut into your hands. When I saw these double pulley systems, I realized I could make a simple block and tackle system, combining the double pulley (on the rafter) with a single pulley attached to the load and be able to lift the load with half as much force. Th 'M20' pulleys I got are rated to 165lb with is well above the amount I'm lifting. They worked smoothly. I had no trouble pulling the heavier loads up to the ceiling and out of the way.
