We like to host painting parties, and we often hang up our favorite paintings in a nice picture frame. We paint on canvas paper and cut them to size to fit in the frames. We sometimes have to use nails or pins to hold the backing on, and it can be a real pain. These are quick, easy, and secure. The hand tool is solid steel with a rubber-coated handle, and does its job like a charm. My version came with 150 glazier points, so I feel like this kit should last me a lifetime.

I prefer this kind of point for mounting glass panes - compared to the usual flat triangular points. The tool is a big help. I've been using a screwdriver for years but this purpose-made tool makes it easier and better.

I make a lot of custom frames and do everything from cutting and routing the wood to cutting mats and glass, but I've apparently only ever been on the extremes when it comes to mounting the backing! I've used and loved pneumatic staple guns when I worked in the frame shop as a college student, and likewise loved the glacier point guns to lock in bendable points for mounting. But when I've needed to go with an alternative for smaller spaces, I've headed to the other extreme and used a large flat head screwdriver. It's worked, but honestly, there's always that moment when it wants to slide and you end up with a dent in your backing or frame. So when I saw this little tool I thought it may be just what is needed, and it's shown it's really an excellent little addition. The handle is a grippy rubberized coating and the size feels good in the hand. It has a perfect little angle to it so you can easily get over the frame edge and the head is designed to fit the size of the glacier point perfectly. It comes with 150 points, which are slightly different than what I pick up at the store, but nevertheless, they are essentially the same and the tool is perfect with store bought versions of the points (I used the store bought in my test to make sure). When using the points, is also sometimes a good idea to leave the point a little out so you can remove them without much fuss, if needed. Leaving the depth of the metal head of the tool, the angle and leverage you get to pull out a point was excellent and very simple to do. The only gripe I could give would be the hole for hanging on a pegboard was just the clearance of the peg, not the rubber cap on the tip. It's literally not a problem. If you're looking for a framing tool that's solid, metal, and effective - I can honestly recommend this one.

Many years ago I glazed a bunch of old windows that had lots of panes. I had to push the points in and re-putty them, and boy do I wish I had this tool back then! Pushing the points in with a screwdriver was the way I did it, and when they slipped sideways it was a real pain to get them to stick into the wood properly. This simple tool absolutely solves that issue beautifully. If you do any refurbishing or picture framing you want this in your toolbox!I often use glazier’s points in picture frames to hold in the pictures from the back. It is so much easier to push the points in with this well designed tool. The coated handle is easy to hang on to and it has the perfect curve to put your knuckles above the item you are putting into the frame. The end of the tool is made to fit the points perfectly, and it won’t slide off because there are little metal edges to hold on. That means you can push the points into even very hard wood. This tool is magical, and I am delighted to have it in my toolbox. I had a picture frame that was losing the points due to the wood being very hard, so that was a great test of this tool. I was able to push new points into the frame and make it very secure with this tool and the included points. I’m super happy to have this in my toolbox.

I got this to fix a picture I'd found at an estate sale. The picture was beautiful though not necessarily a collectable. The frame was pretty, but all the staples were falling out of the back so the picture had lost its integrity. I priced getting it fixed but it was far more than I wanted to invest in the piece at this time. When I saw this tool I couldn't get it in my hands fast enough!! It was super easy to use and fixed my picture within 5 minutes! I took it to my sister's house and fixed some old pictures she had too!! This little tool is so handy! Everyone should have one!! The little clips go in easily but hold strong. The tool is easy and comfortable to use. I'm so pleased with this little thing!!!

The points are sharp, and bluish enough that I believe they’re zinc covered… they match my ooak glazier’s points perfectly, and I am looking forward to that water resistance. The tips fit securely into the push tool, and the handle angle allows me to provide plenty of pressure against the glass while pushing the tips straight into the wood- because the angle of the tip of the push tool is so precise. I feel confident with it.

YullSorom brandPush Mate glazier's point setting tool with 150 Push Points. This is a dandy little tool for those who frame or reframe photographs, needlework, other art, or diplomas and printed awards. This one fits my hand well. It's sturdy, comfortable, and easy to use.It comes in a ziptop bag. The points come in a separate smaller ziptop bag. The bag of points and the tool both fit in the larger ziptop bag. This keeps everything together so parts don't get separated and there's no time wasted trying to locate the other half of what you need for your project.

This is a nice picture frame tacking kit. The handle is well made and one is able to push the points into the soft woods without any issues. For harder woods I used a wooden mallet and tapped at the back of the tool. The points are made of relatively soft materials and the pointy ends are small so you don't really get a strong insertion. I am not sure if I would trust this with heavy picture frame contents.
