About this item

  • Lightest Full-Zip Fleece | Rab's lightest full-zip fleece for year-round climbing, backcountry touring, and challenging alpine ascents.
  • High Wicking Fleece | Rab's ultralight Thermic fleece (94% recycled polyester, 6% elastane) wicks moisture, dries quickly, and stretches for freedom of movement.
  • Increased Airflow | Alternating stripes of high and low lofting fleece give an airier feel without skimping on warmth.
  • Slim Fit | Sits close to a baselayer while remaining easy to layer a ski shell over.
  • Additional features | Under-helmet-compatible hood, smooth flatlock seams, elastic-bound cuffs and hem, single chest pocket with YKK zipper, YKK Vislon half-zip with a fleece-lined chin.

The Women’s Ascendor Light Hoody is Rab’s lightest fleece for just the right amount of warmth when a short-sleeve doesn’t cut it. Its ultralight, stretchy Thermic fleece offers excellent moisture-wicking capabilities, and it dries quickly after you’re done sweating up steep skin tracks or steeper rock climbs. Slim stripes of alternating fleece weights increase ventilation as well. The Ascendor is easy to layer midlayers and shells over, and plenty of stretch ensures freedom of movement.

I have three of these Rab Ascendor Light Hoody Fleece jackets --- all the same style, but in different colors. Terrific jackets. This time I got the "Patriot Blue," which to me looks to be more purple than blue. I love the color. However ---- BUYER BEWARE: When "first" jacket arrived (not the replacement one I have now), the zipper wasn't installed correctly. The placket (flap of material) on the left side of the zipper was sewn poorly, so that when the jacket was unzipped, the zipper kind of folded over to the left. There was no way to keep that part of the zipper from folding over when the jacket was worn unzipped. When fully zipped up, the zipper looked a bit wavy. Like some cheap product. Not a good look, and especially not the quality expected on a $130 + tax jacket.I contacted Amazon and then had to deal with the seller: Rab. Dealing with the seller came into play thusly:Returning the jacket turned into a major headache due to the fact that the printer at our house wasn't working. I couldn't return the jacket using USPS label Amazon sent me ------- because I couldn't print out the label. When the seller got involved, they sent me a QR code . . . to print out. **This was after I explained to Rab representatives, repeatedly, that our printer wasn't working.**You would think Amazon would have let me return the jacket via Whole Foods (the regular option for returns, where we live) ---- but, no. I was told to go through Rab. Then the Rab Store company emailed me some bizarre Google Chrome (?) QR code which contained a dinosaur logo in the middle of the code.Rab Store rep told me it was a FedEx label. FedEx told me they had zero clue what they were supposed to do with this dinosaur QR code.Eventually, I ended up paying $3.00 to get some guy to print out the original USPS label for me. I was able to post the return (jacket) within the deadline given me. The entire experience made me feel like a complete idiot.-------- At least the zipper on my replacement jacket looks good. --------
