I got this to actually replace the lighter socket for my gps. It functions great, not bulky. And has enough power for my devises. I can actually plug in my iPhone charger with it as well. Median price for value. I’m a frugal person.

Recently acquired this QaMcbulc Radar Detector Cable, USB-C to RJ11 Plug Charging Kit to replace the deteriorating factory power cable of an older Escort detector. My experience with the kit was mixed.Since this is a two piece kit, I'll start with the cable portion. When plugged into a functioning USB-C port, the cable functioned as expected and powered up my detector. The coiled cable isn't as thick as the factory power cable, but works fine and stretches easily to reach a windshield-mounted detector without so much strain as to try and pull out the USB-C plug. There's some decent strain relief on both ends of the cable so it should last a while. Five stars for the cable.On the other hand, the 12V power adapter was a mixed bag. It's a nicely-designed, extremely compact metal unit with both USB-C and USB-A ports. There's a little pull handle that you use to remove the adapter from the 12V socket since it fits nearly flush in the hole. The problem I ran into is that the adapter doesn't work with every car. When I initially went to test the cable/adapter combination in my wife's BMW, it did not supply any power. Luckily, I have a few spare adapters sitting around so I was able to determine that it was the adapter and not the cable that wasn't working. I'm not saying the adapter was a dud though as I got it to work when plugged into another car. I've seen this in a lot of 12V USB adapters (especially the tiny, flush-mount ones) where they're VERY dependent upon the type of socket they're plugging in to. So, technically the adapter works, but for me it was a 50/50 proposition. Only two stars for the adapter.Your experience with the QaMcbulc Radar Detector Cable, USB-C to RJ11 Plug Charging Kit may work just fine depending on your car. But be prepared with another adapter in case it doesn't.
