This is a real radio, not just a simple multi-band one. The App has a nice simple layout and it easy to navigate. Saying that note that the radio is so complex and does so many things it can be a challenge to operate. Changing the steps in the FM & AM band takes careful reading/re-reading of the instructions as does storing station and getting the hang of sub-bands. So, don't lose the instructions as many of the buttons have 2 or 3 functions depending of the mode the radio is in at the time.. After the learning curve you will be rewarded with a full featured radio.The radio is well built and there are a couple things that testify to the quality. First the USB charging cable is a nice one, not a thin wire one you see in budget electronics. Second was the nice surprise of finding that it came with a 6+ foot long shortwave antenna. That used to be the only way to get good SW signals. AM, FM and the National Weather station worked well in my home which is a chore since my home has a radiant barrier that tends to restrict signals. I have not taken it outside yet to test the SW and other bands due to the weather but I think they will work fine too.I was pleasantly surprised by this radio. I didn't give it 5 stars only because of the complexity of operation and I felt the instructions could be clearer. Some video instructions would help.
