The 2015 Jeep Wrangler these were installed on has Rough Country 2.5" lift- on it when I purchased. It has a soft ride and a nice look with larger tires (LT285/70R17). The problem was too much body roll in turns or even deviations in the road surface. The Rough Country documentation did say it would not handle like a stock Jeep. I liked the softer ride but not the body roll. Going around some curves I got an adrenaline boost when the body roll made it feel like it was going into the ditch. I installed 1" wheel spacers which helped tone it a little but still had too much body roll for my preference. I installed these Rancho RS9000 shocks on the rear set to 9 (maximum stiffness) and it cured the body roll. I probably will dial it back (thinking to try 7 next) because the rear is almost too stiff but getting ready to carry a weighty load from TN to TX so will leave it for now. The install was not bad with the right tools and working leisurely I had both sides done in less than an hour. I did install the adjustment knob inside so it didn't stick out waiting to get torn off if I hit something off-road. I read some reviews this was suggested and when I saw how it would mount as per directions decided to protect the knob. I also removed the knob before install and added some marine grade synthetic grease around the rim of the internal well that moves to adjust stiffness.

I ordered a pair of both front (RS999329) and rear (RS999330) for my JKU and in both pairs, one shock was defective. My 6 year old could compress one of the rear shocks I received and one of the front shocks wasn't much better. It's a shame, because it looked like these had already been returned once before (box opened and hardware missing from the defective front shock). I called Rancho customer service and they said I shouldn't be able to compress either so easily and across the pair they should be compressing at similar rate.MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE COMPRESSION ON BOTH SHOCKS BEFORE YOU BEGIN YOUR INSTALL.Thankfully Amazon has a great return policy, I just wish they would do a better job with quality assurance before shipping out product.I have not installed yet, but once I receive the replacements, I'll revise this review to address the actual product.

Great product. Very high quality. For the record, these rears shock come with a high quality hard plastic boot which works well for rear location on a Jeep Wrangler. I had rear shock with a rubber boot and they just sag down. The Rancho boots are locked in place, protect well and look great!

These are great shocks, they are comfortable for a lifted vehicle and would use them again especially considering the amount of money for the alternatives, such as bilstein or fox. The reason they received only 3 stars is because one of the main reasons we purchased them was because of them being adjustable. We understand that you will never get close to a stock ride with a lifted vehicle, however there in our opinion there is no adjustment, yes there is a dial from 1-9 but we're here to tell you it might as well just be 1 & 9, if there was a difference between 1 and 5 we could not tell at ALL. it is the same ride. 9 is stiff for the desert roads and what you need for that.

Probably one of the better shocks that I have tried. The only issue I had was adjusting the knob (could not feel clicks). Very stiff. I pulled the knob off and put some grease in it (make sure knob is set to setting 1 or all the way left before putting back on) and it's working great where you can feel the clicks while changing the settings. Huge difference from the shocks I had on previously. Highly recommend

Shocks are always one of my first upgrades. These feel soft and confident, and improves the ride quality to close to that of a luxury SUV (as close as you can get with two solid axles).I prefer a firm ride thats forgiving over bumps, so I keep my front shocks dialed in around 7 and rear shocks around 5. When towing, I like to crank the rear all the way up to 9.While these might not be as flexy as others in this price range, they are an excellent upgrade to any setup for a great mix of comfort, utility, and off-roadability.

This shock completed the full lift I installed on my Jeep Wrangler JKU. All of the Rancho products I purchased in this kit including these shocks are of top quality at a great price. The install was easy and the adjustable settings make it perfect to fine tune your ride.
