This torch is solid and will have no problem with surviving a drop or 20, but I'm not sure if the floor will survive. It states that it's made from copper, but it feels like solid steel to me, whatever it is, it for sure doesn't feel like it's going to explode in your hand. It's simple to figure out how to use it and the flame is controlled by twisting a +/- knob. You turn the knob to the +, when you hear the butane flowing out, you push the silver button on the back part of the handle, and boom, you created fire. The torch uses butane and you fill it the same way you fill a lighter.Honestly, this torch is a good value buy at its price, but it's not a good value buy for me. This torch can do everything from making creme brulee, to melting down precious metals, and all I plan on using it for is to sear my steaks. If your like me, it's probably best to get a cheaper torch.

Holy how is this thing cool! I had to order butane as I didn't have any in the house when this arrived, but once I filled it and turned it on, it "fired right up". This will be great for so many things, but my main use will be in the kitchen. It's amazingly built and feels of high quality which is impressive at this price. It's got some weight to it, which adds to the quality feel, but not so much to make it hard to hold or use. Filling it was a breeze as you just push the butane canister up to the bottom and hold for 6 seconds.

Is this expensive? Yes. Can you get a butane burner for cheaper? Sure. But does this thing throw fire? **** yeah.I found myself in need of a butane burner and when this thing popped up I though, 'Why not?' I wasn't prepared. When they say 'could be used for welding' I laughed and ignored it. Fool that I was. I have this thing at not even half and the flame roars forth like a dragon whose sports team just lost. It's a lot. It's fun in that visceral 'fire neat' caveman sort of way.It also feels very well built. The copper gives it a sense of weight, the dial effects flamesize well, though I've never fully opened the valve. The starter works well too, sometimes taking a few clicks, but always working. It also filled easily through the standard valve in the bottom.Would I pay $70 for it? Probably not. But on sale? It's pretty darned good. Or you could be just as well served by one of the cheaper options, probably. But this one's build quality is likely better.

I collect lighters and torches. This is a fantastic piece! It looks great and it has lot of weight to it. It defiantly feels like solid metal, the listing states copper but it looks like a brass finish. It fills up very easily. The size is decent, not too big. It's easy to use, and easy to light. The screw on the side controls the flame (gas valve) and the click lighter on the back sends a spark to light it. There is no real lock feature, if the valve is on, gas will flow. It's a decent torch for starting bbq flame, or lighting a stogie. I use it to light my cigar and it was quick and easy. It can be used for soldering copper, just like a propane plumbing torch. Comes well packaged in a nice display box. Included are fill accessories that can help fill the torch with different tip adapters for butane canisters. Overall its a nice, quality product!

This is a very solid butane torch. When you pick it up it's very heavy and you can feel the way to it. It's made of copper and it's certainly been well built. To use it, you put in butane, twist the knob until you can start to hear it come out a bit, and then you push the button to ignite it. It has a flame on it that reaches a heat of 2,372 degrees Fahrenheit. The handle does not heat up even when it's used on full temperature for a long duration of time. My favorite feature is that you can twist the flame control all the way off which completely prevents any butane from leaking out. The fuel consumption lasts for several minutes when you have it on medium or low, it only lasts for a couple minutes on the highest mode. Given that it only takes 6 seconds to refill it, it works well for my application. Overall, I definitely recommend this butane torch.

I have a torch I use for DIY work but for some reason my wife won't let me use it for cooking in the kitchen. So I had to get a kitchen dedicated torch, and this one definitely has some nice features for the purpose. The look is quite sleek and except for a few machine marks on the body and some dings in the front edge of the nozzle, the finish was very good. This is extremely simple with a single push button for ignition and a single valve to adjust flame size. At the lowest consistent setting, I was getting a flame about 1/2 inch wide and 2 inches long. At the highest setting, the flame is more like 1.5 inches wide and 10 inches long. So as you can imagine, this thing puts of a lot of heat and tears through the butane. The design is such that you get a nice blue flame at any setting, which is good for many applications, but it lacks the flexibility of my garage torch that has a fine pointed flame and the ability to change the air ratio to get a cooler yellow flame if you need it. So overall it may not be as useful for a utility torch if you need fine control. That said, as food torch, this thing should be good for scorching a broad area evenly.

Our friends got us one of those backyard firepit stoves and I was excited to get a fancy new lighter to try it out. A few observations:This is not a low cost plastic lighter like the kind your sketchy cousins might use; this is a premium crafted torch for lighting sophisticated fires and making even more sophisticated S’mores dessertsThe copper material is comfortable to hold, looks amazing, and doesn’t get warmThe igniter works really easily and helps you to have confidence that when you press the trigger, you are going to be getting some serious fireFor those stubborn fires that won’t easily start, you can just leave the flame on for up to 30 secondsThe best praise I can give about this torch is that almost everyone of my friends have asked where I got this “awesome” torch and if they can try it out.
