I like this thing! It's so small and portable and yet it does a good job of finding metal up close (it starts alerting at like 6 inches away or closer with the scratcher cover off). It comes with a stretchy lanyard you can use to use the wand without having to stay bent over. This will be great for those times when you lose some tiny metal object like an earring or fish hook in the grass that you want to find. There's no missing the alerts (noise and vibration) and it's really cool that it can even be used under several feet of water! I love that it's rechargeable too, so it won't cost you anything in batteries! This could probably even double as a security wand as well. It was accurate enough that it found my wife's metal knee and my daughter's metal parts from her horrible wreck so I'm confident it could detect a gun or knife on someone's person with no trouble.I'm really happy with this product and I think it's a good value at its current price. It feels rugged, like it will last a really long time.

Love this. Includes everything you need with it. Works great as intended at close distance, and is made of solid, durable plastic which should last a while. My old one did not have a rechargeable battery which is a plus for sure. Has vibration alerts and sound that you can control with the button on the device using specific combinations of presses that are clearly stated in the manual. Easy to use. Nice that you can hunt discreetly by enabling just the vibrate function and turning off the sound. Also has different settings to help with identifying/hunting different types of metals (discriminator), and is easy to use the sound enabled pinpointer to narrow down exactly where the treasure is located. Unit is waterproof, and very lightweight, and at a great price. Would recommend.

This metal detector compares to a big brand metal detector which costs about four times as much. The shape, construction material, and detection capabilities are roughly the same. From a users perspective, the only real difference is that this one has a rechargable battery and has an underwater capability.Setting the sensitivity and sound/vibration preference is done using a one-button menu, easy enough if you know what the beeps represent (keep the instructions handy until you familiarize yourself). As far as detection, it detects a spoon from about two inches distance (in air) while set at maximum sensitivity. Considering the ease of keeping this (compact) detector in a glove compartment or toolbox, the relatively easy functionality, and the modest price; I recommend this product.

Easy to use, makes for a great gift idea for metals enthusiasts. Tested the detector using my gold (Au) ring, several silver (Ag) coins and inadvertently identified other metal items (e.g., Cu, Fe, etc.) without even realizing that there were metal objects nearby. This detector would seem to come in handy in close quarters situations where you know you dropped something but can’t locate it as the pointer limits the ability to search wider areas. It is a bit on the expensive side, but you’re also getting a quality detector. If anything, it seems to “over-detect”, easily detecting the Au ring and the Ag coins with ease. Another plus is that it is rechargeable so you’re not wasting money on batteries. All in all, five 5️⃣ stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not good enough for my use, was looking to identify copper wires underground. It works for copper but was at only about 2 inches deep and I needed the advertised 5 inch detection of solid metals.

This pinpointer works great. It is very sensitive at its highest sensitivity setting. I noticed some quality issues with the construction, however. The pinpointer comes fully assembled and includes a charging cable (USB to USB-c), belt pouch, lanyard and a cover for the detector end. The detector is rechargeable, so you don't have to replace batteries.Naturally my first action after receiving the detector was to ensure it was fully charged. I ran into problems when trying to accomplish this, however. There's a cap at the end of the device that you remove to reveal the USB-c connector. The plastic end plate around the connector protruded too far out, however. When I tried to engage the charging cable, the USB-c connector didn't appear to be long enough. After some examination, I determined that the plastic end plate had been installed incorrectly, causing it to bend outward. There were two screws holding it in place, so I removed these and discovered the end plate was slightly bent down the middle. After bending it back into shape and carefully reinstalling it, I could now properly attach the charging cable.Charging is indicated by a slow flashing of a built-in light on the side of the detector. Topping up the battery only took about 1 hour.I gave this pinpointer I try after charging. You should read the instructions so you know how to turn it on and off and adjust the sensitivity. There's only the one button, so it is a little challenging to access all of the features and settings. At the highest sensitivity setting it detects metal 6" to 8" away. If you want to use it as a pinpointer you have to adjust the sensitivity for the conditions that you have. Typically you want it just sensitive enough to find things in a pile of dirt or sand, which will depend on the material and moisture content. I found I could adjust the sensitivity to the conditions, using one of the three settings. The cap at the end seems to be properly sealed against moisture when it is fully screwed on.I'd rate this higher, but I had to fix a construction quality issue. Fortunately it wasn't a show stopper.
