Overall this is a good, functional item. Great for the kitchen or wherever you are cooking. I don't have any complaints about functionality or utility, but I have to say, it feels pretty cheap. I'm not sure how long it will last and I don't know that the materials are high quality. That also might make this a poor choice for a gift. The value of the item (not specifically the price, but just the overall value - something important in a review) is just not as good as I'd like it to be.

This is a really cute recipe display. I like the look of it as well as the functionality of it since it stands on it's own. The recipe covers are great so your recipes will stay looking nice for a long time. I wish it did come with more than 15 of the protector sheets. I think this will be a great gift for a person moving out on their own or a newly married couple.

I did not receive the recipe cards that were supposed to come with this, however I already had most of mine written on index cards so it made for less writing. I would say this could be a nice gift for a wedding or something like that. I like the size and the style; it is soft to the touch. The clasp snaps on the front and back so if you want to take it off completely that is an option. I will likely change out the rings to allow for more storage, which in turn will mean that the clasp will not fit after so many additions. I am downsizing from a three-ring binder so the minimal amount of space that this takes up while I'm baking or cooking is ideal.

Leather is strong and gives it an official feel. I love this book. I come from a family where we visually and through memory pass recipes down but I want to be able to have a place where all the good food can be found for myself as well as friends who just want to learn as well. The cards are thick and glossy but can be written on easily, not too big so beware of writing paragraphs this isn't the item for you but otherwise the functionality of this item is amazing. Easy to organize and even easier to use while in the kitchen because it will stand up and all you got to do is put it to the side and work your magic! amazing recipe book . The pages are well protected by the plastic so that is a plus as well.

Well, if you are familiar with any of my reviews, you will find i don't always use items for the expected things they are meant for. Do I put recipes in this binder? Yes, but for paint pouring mixes, color diary for painting, and video references for techniques in liquid art and resin art. It is small and compact and would not have much room for cooking recipes, but it is the perfect size for jotting down formulas for cell activators, custom paint color mixing, and references to demo videos by well known artists. It is easy to flip through and makes a great gift because it is aesthetically pleasing as well. I can add water color or mixed media paper for palette testing ...it has helped organize things I used to write down on the back of a used envelope.

I got this as a gift for my wife. I am working on writing down family recipes to share with the next generation. I love the recipe cards that come with it. I haven't put it all together yesterday but it seems to be of good quality and just what I was looking for.
