Although I had my shoulder joint replacement surgery many years ago I have to be very careful to protect my shoulder from an excessive impact of the rifle or shotgun recoil. On some of my guns I use Gel-Filled, Slip-On Stock Recoil Pads. They do a pretty good job but for the powerful rifles like M14 I still need an extra cushion. The recoil pad under review here is that extra cushion I greatly appreciate. Actually there are several ways these pads can be used. First off, the ladies who don't mind shooting long arms certainly would appreciate the pad's ability to reduce the felt recoil of a firearm. Secondly, it can be used over you shoulder to redistribute the weight of anything one carries on a shoulder strap/sling. I have put it permanently on the inside of my range vest covering both the front and the top of my shoulder. Since the pad is very lightweight and thin I think I'm going to get another one to put it permanently on the outside of my range vest. I'm sure the double layer would make shooting even a powerful rifle or 12 gauge shotgun more enjoyable.

I shoot sporting clays three times a week, so reducing felt recoil is essential to me. This ZornRC Recoil Pad works great, and I like the size because you can customize it to your shooting vest. I have several other recoil pads, but they are all much smaller. I cut this one to fit the pocket in my vest, and it works perfectly.

I got this recoil pad for my shooting vest, and it's been good so far. It's easy to fit into the shoulder pocket of my vest and doesn’t feel bulky or get in the way. The pad is thin enough that it doesn’t interfere with the length of the pull, which makes it more comfortable to shoot larger rifle calibers. After a couple of sessions of using this pad, I'm grateful for its durable construction and ability to help absorb recoil.
