It looks amazing, the box has great presentation, but the product isn’t great. For starters, the whistle itself is already tarnished, and starting to rust in places, and the whistle is held to a cheap necklace chain by a easily bent keychain piece. The box is amazing, no complaints there. Am I returning it? No. Do you get what you pay for? The box alone is worth at least 10 dollars, but the whistle isn’t.

This was a great priced bosun whistle replica, in a nice presentation box. It arrived carefully wrapped, although the whistle was slightly bent out of alignment. With adjustment, the gift recipient could get the whistle to work perfectly

Some of the solder joints are sloppy but after bending and tuning it works great, the box is a much better product than the pipe IMO.

Really nice display box was worth more than the cost. Whistle is all brass and copper, and works great. I use it to call my kids down for supper (much to their chagrin) and a blow of 'general quarters' means quit playing video games, come downstairs, we need to talk, lol. It's been great for getting their attention over their headphones, and...I think they've both decided they don't want to join the Navy! Anyway, great piece, great value, can't be beat.

This is a really unique item. I have never seen one and thought it would make a nice addition to my nautical collection. Sure, its not made of gold, but it's amazingly priced. I saw others online while writing this review and was surprised how expensive they were. The beautiful wood box this comes in is a nice touch. It looks great all by itself. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if it would have been hinged. Overall a great item at a great price.

First off.. look at the price. You are not getting a museum piece here. This is a display/replica. A real Bosun pipe requires skill to make it sound proper and I am not skilled at it so I cannot say if this pipe really works or not. It looks like the original brass/copper pipe but you can tell it is not military issue in quality (or price). It does, however, look like an authentic Bosun if a person has never seen a real one.I was surprised with the box it came in. I have orded several of these replica, display only, brass items that come in the same styleized box. This one, however, had the inlay much better fitted and the finish was superior to most.It's worth the price.. especially if you are a prime member.

The whistle works, and brings back memories from my US Navy shipboard days. (Whoo -eeee- ooooo. "Now hear this, now hear this, the smoking lamp is out through out the ship while underway refueling. That is all.")The whistle comes with an attractive wooden case with a gold colored anchor inset on the lid. However - the chain is flimsy and made of soft medal, so I had to replace it with a more sturdy neck chain, (I do wear the whistle occasionally).

I ordered with Boatswain Whistle when my father in law passed away. He was in WWII and actually played the whistle on the ship he was assigned on. He was cremated and we wanted the whistle to be placed with his ashes and we gave one to my mother in law also, which she wore at the services.I was worried about the timeline, and thought that we did not have enough time to get the whistle, since the seller told me that they only offered one type of delivery, but to my surprise, I ended up receiving the whistle earlier then anticipated, it came to me within about 3 days, could not have asked for anything better. Each time I e-mailed the seller, they were quick to get back to me. Wonderful customer service. Thank you very much.
