Works as indicated and expected. Haven’t used 5-way but assume it’s also good. This device also keeps backup cam from false warning in reverse with a hitch type bike rack.

Provide conversion from 7 pin barrel connector to 4 and 5 pin flat connects which most add on turn/brake straps require as well as trailers

When I plugged in a rental trailer a few weeks back, the trailer lights did not work. I was certain there was a problem with the trailer, but I didn't have a tester around to prove it. My wiring adapter (7-way to 4- and 5-way) was getting on in years, so I thought I would give this a try. After plugging this in to the SUV, turns out I had blown a fuse on the SUV. Anyway, this is a quality adapter and the status lights are extra assurance to know in the future if I have another broken circuit.

My REESE Towpower adapter worked perfectly right out of the package. I use it with a Chevy Silverado 1500 when pulling a tandem axial boat trailer.Before this, I used a cheaper model that only lasted two seasons even though I kept it stored in the center console when not in use. I began to have trailer lighting problems when I knew my truck and trailer wiring were correct. This adapter fixed it immediately.I recommend that you remove the adapter when not in use to protect it from the elements and road grime. It will last a lot longer.
