Good image quality even at night

The Reolink E1 Pro has been a solid performer in terms of video quality, clear footage both day and night. I’m using a 256GB microSD card, and after over a month of recording a lot of movement, I’m still at 35% storage, which is impressive! The AI detection system is extremely good, I get notifications anytime a person, animal or can enters the detection zone. However, there’s one major flaw: the microSD plastic cover gets stuck outside the camera (photo attached), if the lens records something low and doesn’t roll back up. When this happens, I lose the monitor point, which is a huge inconvenience, especially if I’m not there to manually fix it. This issue puts you at a disadvantage in a security setup.I would return it if I hadn’t already drilled holes into my mortar for installation. If Reolink fixes this design flaw, it would be an easy 5-star product.UPDATE: Reolink customer service reached out to me, they gave me some advice on how to fix the problem. They genuinely care about making things right, so thats something I appreciate. Unfortunately, it is a design flaw so I had to apply tape to the cover to make sure it doesnt get stuck. So far it seems to be working fine.

I’ve had the Reolink E1 Pro for a while with zero issues, so I decided to try the E1 Outdoor Pro—and it’s definitely a step up in image quality. Even though it has the same bitrate as the E1 Pro, the image quality hasn’t taken a big hit at all. The video is sharp and clear, even in low light, and it’s been rock solid running 24/7.I’m actually using it without the mount, just sitting upright on my window sill in the bedroom. I wanted something 4K with wired connectivity, and it’s working great as a window cam facing outside. Just make sure to turn off the IR LEDs in the app—if you leave them on, they’ll cause a glare on the window and make it impossible to see anything at night.I honestly don’t understand why this camera has only a 4.2 rating. It might be because I always hardwire my Reolink cameras to the network instead of relying on Wi-Fi. With a wired connection, I’ve had minimal false alerts, and once you take the time to configure the motion sensitivity settings properly, the camera is super reliable. It’s been a great addition to my setup, and I haven’t had any issues with connectivity or software glitches. For the price and performance, this camera is a no-brainer if you’re looking for solid versatile security.

This has got to be the best IP camera out there.Yes I know that it can be a little pain to set it up but don’t give up on it.The camera setup has a QR code that you get in the app during setup that you need to scan with the camera, now this can be a little tricky because it does not want to scan and people just get frustrated and give up. I take a screen shot of the QR code and put that screen shot up to the camera because the app dims the light on the phone making it hard to scan, make sure your brightness is all the way up, you can also do this with a flashlight shining on the QR code as well.I recommend setting it up in the house first in bright light and then installing where you want it to be.Don’t give up, this is a fantastic well played camera.

The image quality is excellent in the day and night (with or without active lighting). I have close to a dozen security cameras in my home and I would rate this as average. My problems with it are:* the slew speed is terribly slow. Panning from one spot to another takes forever and people cannot be tracked unless they were more than 20 feet away.* the gimble cannot look down. In fact, it can only look down 45 degrees or so from my estimate.* the power and ethernet port are conjoined as one tail connected to the camera. It leads to a bunch of wires outside and can't install cleanly.

I have this camera mounted above my front door and really like how it can identify people and animals, seperate from basic motion. Our house is well elivated from the road, and the PTZ feature lets me swivel it around and look out over the neighbourhood and roadway.I'm also trying out the time lapse function - I have it set to run every 2 hours for the next 3 months from 8am to 8pm - I'm hoping I get a good view of the transition of summer across the side of my yard.

The nicest thing about this camera is it's versatility. You can use it to view only, to store in the cloud, store on your server or store on an SD card. Great resolution and the configureation of the light, movement and siren make it a grat deterrent for unwanted visitors.

I tried several cameras before deciding on using this version from Reolink. The key features that I was looking for: crystal clear high quality footage, local recordings without a monthly fee, reliably detect motion, and notify me on my iPhone even if I put it in "Do Not Disturb" or silent mode (thanks to the Critical Alerts feature on iOS). This camera not only meets all of my requirements, but it is even BETTER than I hoped! I am VERY impressed that this camera could detect the difference between moving objects in the footage (ALL animals, vehicles and humans) without needing to be connected to a cloud service. This camera can even detect free roaming chickens! Needless to say, the AI detection works very well and gives you the option to track/follow moving objects and tweak the sensitivity/range of detection to your needs.Additionally, there is a PC app available so you can view live and recorded footage and access all configuration settings right from your desktop (Windows 10/11). AND, if you don't want to rely solely on recording video to a micro SD card for local storage, this camera is capable of connecting to your local NVR/DVR via ONVIF! Although I am recording my video locally to a 128gb micro sd card, I also have the camera connected to my main Amcrest NVR system for backup. As far as weaknesses go, I would say that sometimes when playing back footage directly from the micro SD card, the iOS app is laggy, but I believe that might be due to the SD card speed and/or my poor Wi-Fi connection. To remedy this, I may purchase a Reolink Hub to use as my "offline" private cloud, and hopefully they eventually make their entire system Matter-certified so that I can connect everything to my home automation system. After my positive experience with their camera, I feel like this company is very promising, so I hope to add-on more Reolink products to my home in the future!
