I can't really speak for the accuracy of this, as I haven't tested it against any other measuring tapes, but I do really like this one!! It's nice and compact but the leather makes it feel a little fun and fancy. It rolls and unrolls smoothly, is nice and flexible, and feels durable. Really anything you could ask for from a basic sewing tape measure!

This is a beautiful leather measuring tape. High quality real leather. The tape pulls out and goes back in easily. Fun stocking stuffer. I am buying several more!!

I was looking for something to take body measurements and came across this unusual but very cool looking tape measure. I needed both metric and standard which this has. The leather is sturdy and looks great. Squeezing the sides retracts the tape. Taking measurements never looked so good. I love it.

I like to carry a little tape measure in my purse. It may seem odd, but you'd be surprised at how often I use it, generally when shopping for something of a specific size, like drawer inserts, or furniture. This isn't a full-size (25' or more) tape measure. It's only 5' long; but for most purposes, that's plenty long enough, and it fits in my bag nicely. I really love that it's encased in a round, leather circle; and that the end of the tape measure (the part you pull out) has a little leather tab. It is double-sided, with both imperial and metric measurements, down to a 1/16" measure. This is a cloth tape, not metal, which I love, having been cut on metal ones plenty of times. Once you pull out the tape, it is easily retracted, just by squeezing gently on both sides of the case (pinching the sides together, in the middle of the circle). A small caution, though: If the tape is pulled out more than about 1', be careful when you retract it, as the little leather tag on the end can snap you on your arm or hand. My advice is to lightly hold on to the tab end of the tape as you retract it, thus preventing that snap. While I've been teased in the past for carrying a tape measure with me everywhere (Disneyland!), it has been remarkably handy on many occasions (is the child tall enough to go on that ride?). I've measured everything from plants, plant pots, drawers, storage units, art pieces, picture frames, pots and pans, dishes, purses, kids' clothing, kids themselves, dog leashes, craft supplies, etc. A tiny little object that is both attractive and highly functional is my favorite thing!

I am very happy with the replacement; it looks nice, it is easy to read, it works well, and it retracts properly. I had to get a replacement because the the first one did not retract properly; this is why I did not give the item five stars.
