This may be completely on me but I just assumed they’d keep things cold for longer periods of time. I have to use all of the ones that came in the pack (which is fine) but it doesn’t really seem to capture the temperature of traditional ice packs.I may have bought these for food purposes, which didn’t work out for me BUT I leave a 3 star review instead of 1 because these could have better medical applications than your traditional ice pack. Because it doesn’t get as cold, it could potentially work great in a pinch if someone suffers a contusion, edema or is need of pain relief without the risk of skin integrity. Always consult a physician and do not take this as medical advice.

These little ice packs start out completely flat. You just add water to make them expand for freezing. Lightweight, durable, and portable - they're perfect for travel, food shopping, lunches, even first aid. If you're a giant kid who still thinks things that grow in water (toy animals, washcloths, etc.) are cool, you enjoy watching these turn into ice packs. Lol

Won’t stay frozen or cold all day. They are fancy ice cubes that won’t leak water when they melt. I tested them in a large insulated picnic lunchbox in 80 degree weather. They kept my drink chill for the 2-3 hours I was out, but they were completely melted once I got back home. I don’t believe they would keep things cold for much longer than that, especially in hot weather.I also used them to keep groceries chilled on the drive home, but that’s not a long trip either. These are only good for shorter outings.

Got these because they had good reviews and need to keep my diet Coke COLD for lunch. Very lightweight and pliable, which is good. I put a room temp soda in my lunch in the morning (forgot to put it in the fridge before, lunch fail) and when I got it out at lunch, it was super cold. Great purchase.

These arrive flat. You soak them in water and then freeze them and they are ready to use. I wrap one with a rubber band around a can of soda and it kept cool for hours. I will be ordering more.

I do not recommend using this as a standalone, despite the carry strap. Not just because of the cold loss from the outside of the bag, since it's only one layer thick, but also because if it dangles against your leg you might get frostbite.Otherwise this bag is a great find, and better made than I expected. The fabric is actual woven fabric, the seams are covered, and (yay) there is a two-ended zipper on both the top and the bottom. This means the bag can be made flat to fit in the freezer, but also means it's really easy to clean.This will be great as a freezer compartment in the beach cooler (maybe with an additional cold brick inside). I may make an outer insulated bag for it, to use as a standalone.

Only 4 stars because I feel like they could be a little bigger. However, they come flat and it's almost confusing, but it's cool when you put them in water they bulk right up, freeze well and are very flexible with no leaks!
