I have the Ridgid RP-241 and use this kit for pressing in cabinets and in other tight spaces where there's no room for a standard jaw. These rings work better than the jaws and it seems there's more crimping power with the rings than the jaws alone making a reliable leak free connection. These were incredibly expensive but has saved me from potentially more work and labor on such a simple project. These rings and actuators are made in Switzerland and the USA which also explains the high cost of this kit. This kit will save you time and labor that comes in the plumbing trade. These are also excellent for the average DIY'er needing quick work on changing out valves or other items. Would highly recommend this product but comes at a price.

I bought this kit new, and did a few test crimps using Viega fittings. The tool consistently created a large lip on the outer ring of the fitting on either side. Using the regular press jaws on the other end of the fitting resulted in a clean crimp. I opened a case with Ridgid, and was told to clean the rings with a wire brush (brand new rings!), because excessive number of crimps leaves copper behind. I responded that they were brand new and they refused to respond to any further inquires, they just ignored me and my issue. I cleaned the new, shiny rings with a wire brush anyways and wasted more money on some test crimps which showed the same defect. I have no idea if the inside of the ring, where the o-ring is located would also be deformed which puts the reliability into question if there is no leak on day one. I've had it with Ridgid.

It is a must have kit. I'm using it with the m12 Milwaukee and will try the other head with the m18 Milwaukee.
