I got the Ring Solar Charger 5W 12V Compatible with Ring Video Doorbell 3/3+/4, Battery Video Doorbell Plus, 16.4ft Waterproof Charging Cable, 360°Adjustable Mount because it looked like the most straight forward set up meaning the installation appeared like a no brainer. I like the ease of the design with the cables being adjoined to a single cable which makes cable organization much easier. additionally, I think it's a great value as the battery life of my Ring drains so quickly in colder weather so having an endless supply of energy is a time and money save for me.

It is impossible for me to situate this solar panel in a place that will receive sunlight all or even most of the day. My front door is in a covered area, and this makes it necessary to take advantage of all 16 feet of the solar panel's power cord just to put the panel somewhere that it can catch sunlight for a few hours every day. While this is not ideal, it certainly has helped with how often the battery needs to be swapped for one that has been fully charged. I can't give you hard numbers, but even with suboptimal panel placement, the battery in my camera lasts about twice as long before needing to be changed. I consider this a win.

This ring solar charger has worked well, it keeps my doorbell charged and was fairly easy to install. The cable comes with ample enough length for most situations, very happy with this solar charger.

INstalled ring doorbell in location that did not have a doorbell before, so no power existing there. So this does power the ring doorbell perfectly, don't need to recharge and replace batteries. Another plus, if power goes out, and your internet is on a ups backup, like mine is, you still get functionality in power failures!

I was hoping this one would work, since the first one we bought didn’t do anything and I had to charge the battery every 3 days. The reviews I read said a 12 volt solar charger would work - the one we originally had was a 5 volt charger. So I ordered this one, a 12 volt, 5 watt solar charger thinking my problem would finally be solved. No such luck. I still have to charge the battery every 3 days.

This solar panel is a 12V 5W model with 16+ feet of power wire and has on plug on its end. Therefore you have to connect it manually. The panel comes with a light duty mounting attachment that lets you mount and adjust the alignment of the panel for maximum sun exposure. This model is well suited for other projects where a low power 12V supply is needed. I have a utility trailer with an electric brake system. My trailer is not used very often and I was having issues keeping the battery charged. On this type of system the battery is recharged when it is connected to the tow vehicle. The battery must have a good charge before you get on the road or the breakaway system won't work. It could take 30 minutes or longer to charge a dead battery. It is very bad for the battery if it discharges completely. That why I installed this solar panel on the trailer. The low wattage of this panel is perfectly safe to be connected constantly without overcharging the battery. Now I can just hook up the trailer, press the test button and hit to road.

I was super excited to get this solar charger for my ring doorbell. Prior to getting this solar charger I was having to make sure I had electrical plug wherever I needed my ring to be at. Now, I don't have to worry about that. It works very well and charges my ring doorbell very quickly and the charge lasts for several days. We put it on the corner of our porch where the sun shines all day and have had no problems with it at all. When considering the frustration of making sure there is an outlet to plug your ring into I think that this is a great value!
