"Powerhide" according to Ringside is made from an outer layer of PVC adhered to canvas.NOTE ONE DESIGN PROBLEM: If you hang from ceiling, you can adjust height to suit yourself depending on ceiling height -- high ceiling may need more longer chain. When I ordered this bag it came with hanging chain and swivel, which is great. But the chain is way too long if you intend to mount it on an Everlast bag stand - unless you are four feet tall. The chain is welded which is good if the length is right but if length is off you have to ditch it. I hung mine using rock climbing closed end loop slings and a caribiner + swivel, they are quiet, stronger than chain, and inexpensive while rated 27KN which safely supports thousands of pounds.I had a Ringside Powerhide 65 pound bag for 15 years, outdoors in harsh mountain weather year-round. I average 200 punches per minute in sets of two minutes plus one minute rest for a total of 30 minutes, 3-4 days a week. The bag still performs as if it were basically new. I gave it to a friend and ordered this empty one because I want to fill it with a stuffing mix containing a thick layer of memory foam against the outer surface.Shots can tend to glace off of a PVC surface since it is slick, esp. if it is stuffed really tight and hard. A layer of material like memory foam that has some give to it allows shots to land and stick with more focused power, hence less chance of wrist injury from a glancing shot and also less shock on your joints.I definitely don't recommend paying hundreds of dollars for a prefilled bag (manufacturers typically use shredded textiles plus sand or sawdust) when you can fill it yourself. If you don't know how there are videos online.

The Ringside Powerhide Heavy Bag is an exceptional choice for anyone serious about their boxing or martial arts training. What impressed me most about this product is its quality and durability, matched with the flexibility of being shipped unfilled.Upon arrival, the heavy bag felt robust and well-made. The Powerhide material is tough and seems like it can withstand years of punches and kicks without wearing down. This is crucial for training equipment, as it needs to endure repeated, high-impact use.Filling the bag was straightforward, and it allowed me to customize the density and weight according to my training needs. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned athlete, this feature is a significant plus as it lets you adjust the bag as your skills progress.

The DEA will never think to look inside of this!!!! 🤣🤣🤣First attempt at filling a heavy bag went pretty well. Used the guts from the old 1980s bag I use to have (it smelled fabulous). Did some interwebs learning and took the advice of making caps for each end to hold the form (guy used cardboard, I used foam board). Add some shedded cotton, tamp it down with a baseball bat, add a sandbag then tamp cotton around it. Weighed in at 87lbs. Close enough! Saves a lot of money on shipping over ordering prefilled.

It is very well made and is professional quality. I love the overall design and fabrication. It is made of very good quality materials and should last longer than my old one.

This bag is tuff stuff. Shipping was fast and well packaged. Used old clothes and bags of sand to fill it up. Have mine weighing between 70-90 lbs and it’s been holding up great. 4-5 days a week of 2 hours of abuse and it’s been holding up like a champ. The quality of the bag is great. It’s a nice thick leather and has nice stitching. Well supported straps for hanging. If your not intimidated by filling it yourself, you have a great product.

The bag I received was 41" x 13". For some its not a big deal, but in the end it makes a difference in terms of weight. Anyhow, the bag is really well made. The PowerHyde is really thick and smooth. Decided to return it and get the PowerHyde Thai bag.

I ordered this bag based on other reviews. I had never punched or kicked a durahide bag but after researching it on the interwebs it seemed like a solid choice. I have it stuffed now with a ton of rags and old t-shirts. It is getting more compact as I beat it. I keep feeding it and pressing it down with a weight on top. So far this has been a great addition to my garage gym.
