As with most diaphragm calls, this one takes some practice to become proficient with it. However, the learning curve seemed a little less steep on this on than it was on other calls. For me, domed calls are always a little easier to use and this one is one of the easier ones.Within a few minutes I was able to get a good sounding cow call. A few more minutes and I was getting good at varying the pitch, duration, and range. The call fits well and I don’t get quite as much vibration out of this one like I do with others. This will definitely be in my calling kit this coming fall.

I hope this call holds up all season. When you pop this in your mouth, you nearly can't feel the latex at all. It's somewhere between a mix of "not there at all" and "I'm one with the call". I really like it, I'm not sure if this call is a perfect fit for my mouth (compared to the Phelps and Elk101 calls I've been using) or if the small dome just makes that much more of a difference.I cannot scream out calls with this-- it has good volume, but I have louder calls. However, I can manipulate this call with ease. There is rarely a misstep-- cow calls, mews, bugles, they all come out the first time nearly perfectly without any thought. I can hit the volume (soft to medium) and notes I want with hardly any effort.I think this is a great medium to close quarters call. I have the confidence I can use it well under pressure because it's just so easy to use. If you want a loud locator or an amped up, angry, in your face scream-- then switch to another call. For everything else, this one just performs so smoothly.
