The spring tensioned pilot bit (and the wonderful extra provided) make it a lot easier when drilling steel to get better control over walk. They hold up pretty well when used with cutting fluid!

Used this just yesterday on a new stainless steel kitchen sink. Needed an additional hole for a glass washer unit, so I added the center drill bit which fastens on with an Allen wrench for stability. It took very little time to go though the surface and get just the right hole size. Very fine piece of steel material that this is built with. Tough teeth.

I needed to cut some holes in some 5/16 hot rolled channel, and I got this thinking the mill scale would just ruin it by the time I was done, but it didn't!! It still looks and cuts like new! I was using a drill press and plenty of cutting oil, but even so, it held up really well.I like it!

I selected the 19mm - 3/4" hole saw. I work on mild steel sheet metal often, and go through bits pretty regularly. I'd say this one has held up as good as the best of them after 12 or so holes. Any saw will wear, but this one is taking its time. In the meantime, it's cutting cleanly and reasonably accurately (I don't have a caliper but it is definitely fitting components needing 3/4" diameter). The best part is that this particular saw is $10 at the time of this review, which is a very reasonable price and one I'm ready to get again when the time comes.

I have been less than satisfied with my metric hole saw kit for creating clean holes in my project boxes. I tried the hole saw to see how it would compare. It cut a nice clean hole for component mounting. I have not used it on really hard materials like steel or masonry so I can not comment on that type of use.I will buy other sizes for my projects.

So much nicer than a regular hole saw. But you have to use the 3/8" drive. When assembled (pilot bit installed) it no longer fits in the storage box it comes in.

I've been using this tungsten carbide hole saw for various projects, and it's fantastic. It cuts through hard metal, steel, iron, wood, and plastic with ease. I was pleasantly surprised by its durability and efficiency. This tool has exceeded my expectations and made my DIY tasks much easier. Highly recommend for anyone needing a reliable hole saw.

Although this can also be used for metal or wood, my intent is to make holes in plastic. It is well suited for that but be sure not to go too fast which could melt the plastic as opposed to cut it.I'm sure it will work well on metal (at least thinner/softer alloys) but the question is how long will it last; how many holes can I drill. For the low price of this one, I can buy another if I really need to drill that many holes.
