This was a good bit for my needs.. drilling holes in glass. I will say that I only received one bit and I wish I had a spare. Also, going bigger might be something I check into next time. This Benesoon diamond bit worked well, was a good value, the size was correct per project specs. I haven't drilled glass or tile before so I definitely had a learning curve. Start at an angle and straighten into the hole seemed to work best for me.Statement/Disclaimer: This review is part of Amazon's Vine Program which provides products in exchange for honest reviews. The bright yellow color makes this bit easy to spot among my drill tools, which I really appreciate since I’m often working outside in the garden. I picked it up specifically to add drainage holes to larger ceramic and fibrous resin pots — including a 24” planter that holds a pomegranate tree.As the tree and soil are incredibly heavy, I chose to make a couple holes on the sides close to the base. As the positioning was a bit more challenging this way, the diamond bit cut through cleanly and smoothly once it caught into the pot. Painter’s tape helped as recommended, and while it did slip a bit at first (as expected with smooth surfaces), holding this slow and steady got a clean result. Using this 1" bit saved me so much more time and energy than any in my set. Definitely a solid tool to have on hand for patio or garden DIYs.

You can tell by the pictures that it's NOT triangle shank, and I didn't need it to be (but took off a star because I feel the description should match the product). Otherwise, I like that it has a long enough area on the tip that I can use it to smooth out the sides of the hole / make minor enlargements. I'm not sure about the wax core, though...

I drilled some holes in white porcelain shower-tile (like subway tile), and this 1/4" bit did pretty well. This is my first time drilling in tile. Getting the hole started was tricky: At first, I started a pilot hole with a masonry bit, and then expand it with this diamond bit, but that gave me some chips (user error). So then I had better luck (quicker job) by holding this bit at a strong angle (and very light pressure) to use the "corner" of this bit to start a small slot. Then angle up (vertical) to plunge into the tile. The hole was clean and round.I would suggest using water -- more water -- to keep it cooler.Since this has the abrasive coating on its side, another good use is for smoothing and rounding-over sharp edges, or carving out contours in tile edges.

This drill is functional and sturdy. I've tested it to drill holes on porcelain tiles but not sure how long it will last. I do recommend using water so it does not overheat when you are drilling. It is a good quality drill for the price.

I purchased this drill bit for one specific purpose: drilling drainage holes in the bottom of clay and ceramic pots. For that task, it works perfectly. There was a slight learning curve at first, mainly to prevent the bit from skipping across the surface (since I wasn’t using a pilot hole). Once I got the technique down and the wax core wore away, the drilling process became quick and smooth.I highly recommend spraying water on the drilling area to help keep it cool—friction can cause the bit and surface to heat up quickly. As long as you use this bit properly, it should last a good while. I’m giving it five stars because it does exactly what I intend it for.

A sturdy hole saw for glass or masonary. It Is packed with a cooling wax that melts with the friction of contact.Normally you Use Water to Keep the bit, and What you are drilling, from becoming too hot. Without some type of lubrication, it Will overheat, smoke, and may break What you are Cutting. The wax will only work the first time as it Will do it's job & melt out of the hole Saw, but the life Span of the hole Saw can continue by using water as the lubricant the next time. The result of the cut is pretty good, even though I'm no Pro. It fit just fine, & had no significant issues. Mark & measure & the cut will be accurate.Pretty neat to try out a newer way to do an Old job.Very handy When you don't have convenient Water access.
