I have a couple of alcohol lamps and this wick doesn't work in any of them. The wick adjustment on alcohol lamps has a small gear that grabs the wick to raise and lower it. This product is thin and flat so it doesn't engage the gear in the lamp. So now I guess I have 50 feet of heavy duty shoe laces.
