This blanket has literally been the difference between sleeping in our SUV or having to get a hotel room. We camp in cooler temperatures and it warms up quick and stays toasty warm all night. We have had it on all night and it hasn't killed our car battery yet.

I saw some not so good reviews for this blanket, but compared to other 12 V blankets it seemed like the best choice, and I ended up being very happy with it!So my intended purpose was to use this with an Ecoflow River Pro power station when camping in the shell of my pickup or in a tent. The idea was to replace my propane heater with a safer option to keep my fiancé warmer when camping. We tried this for the first time and had it draped over our sleeping bag. In this setup it DID NOT do anything for us. It warmed up at first but because we were in a tent, the cold ambient temperature seemed to wick away the warmth before it could penetrate the sleeping bag. Also, it took my battery from 98% down to 68% (didn’t leave it on the whole night).Night 2, we put the blanket inside the sleeping bag but still on top of us (you’re not advised to lay on top of it). This time it worked GREAT. Provided a comfortable amount of warmth to us and kept the inside of the bag warm and cozy. There’s no temperature control, it’s either on or off, but it doesn’t get so hot that you feel the need to turn it down, so that wasn’t a deal breaker. My biggest complaint is that for being the largest size it is still quite small.

Awesome warmed blanket. This is a fantastic blanket designed to provide a subtle but sufficient warmth from a mere 12v.I use it in my Campervan when the camper is hooked up to the mains and plug this into the 12v from the Leisure battery. Highly recommended. I prefer this to camper heating on all night unless it it very cold!If you own a campervan or motorhome with a high capacity gel leisure battery it will readily heat this for 3 nights.(A standard car battery will only run this blanket for about an hour before likely becoming too depleted to start the car, with the engine running it’s fine of course).

i like everything about this blanket! the size is just right for the two front seats in my nissan leaf. it draws a small 4.5 amps and stays comfortably, warm never hot. the fleece is also very nice. I use it everywhere with a rechargeable li-ion battery in my home also, on cold quebec winter days watching tv. i am happy to have chosen this blanket and i do recommend it..

I bought this blanket Nov. 2013. I love it. I tend to be colder than my husband so this keeps us both happy. It is kept in the trunk of my car year round. It does not take much space. Garage temperatures reach 120 degrees in the summer. I sometimes carry it to my husband's car with the cord dragging on the cement. It still works perfectly. It takes approx 30 minutes to reach full heat, which is too hot for me. The one negative, other than not being able to wash it, is that there are no temperature controls. It is on or off. I solved this problem by unplugging it when it gets too hot. I use it year round as husband likes too much air conditioning in summer. The elecrical plug part fits snuggly into the car lighter/charger. It has never fallen out. It has had heavy use and shows no signs of wear. It is made from two pieces of fleece sewn together. The electrical part is between the two pieces of fleece. The two pieces of fleece are not quilted together and the edges of the blanket tend to not sit on the seam. There is no blanket binding on the top. It is pretty bare bones, but I love it. It may be the best item I have ever bought on Amazon and I highly recommend it, if you are not looking for a blanket with a beautiful binding on the top and you are willing to control the temperature manually by plugging in , unplugging it.

Okay, after reading all of the reviews available ( and becoming completely confused by conflicting information I thought i would post accurate information obtained directly from RoadPro: First of all RoadPro has NEVER sold a blanket that used 6.7-Amp low-Amp draw (80.4W)This blanket (Model # RPHB-110DB) uses only 4.6 Amp Low Amp Draw (55 Watts). The blanket is pre-set to reach a max operating temperature of 110F to 115F degrees. It will begin to heat as soon as it is plugged into power. However the time required to reach maximum heat will depend on if you have anything on top of it (like another blanket). It is NOT WASHABLE, but not for the reasons previously stated (getting the wiring or plug wet). Evidently, the material that keeps the wires in position inside the blanket will deteriorate and distort if saturated with water, causing the wires to short and the blanket to fail. Lastly, this was the tipping point for me, this blanked DOES NOT HAVE A AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF/TIMER. If it is plugged in and receiving power it is ON. So, if your cigarette lighter is not tied to your ignition and you forget to unplug it overnight...You might have a cold blanket and a dead battery in the morning... While this blanket will let you sleep without interruption, make sure your battery can handle the power draw if you are going to take a long snooze or get one with a 30-45 minute timer and take shorter naps!

Great blanket! A very nice good size for an adult in the front of the car or for 3 children in the back! Got the package before the expected delivery date, so I'm an even happier customer!

I have had 5 Star performance from this, though I use it only indoors. If I had read the 1 star reviews on this, I don't think I would have bought it; there are some horror stories there.I got this to use indoors on my legs while sitting in a chair. I wanted a small AC electric blanket, but twin size is the smallest I found -- too big. And heating pads are too small. This one is also bigger than I wanted, but the closest I could find. It may be that different people receive different sized blankets, as the advert does not give the dimensions. What I got isX-large, 58" x 42"12 Volts DC8 foot power cord (no switch),cigarette lighter plug,"10 Amps, 55 Watts" (12V x 10A = 120 Watts; math is wrong!)6.7 Amps, 80.4W, as listed here has correct math.Made of 100 % "Polar Fleece" (I didn't know there were sheep at the poles!)Made in ___ (you guessed it) Chinawarning: Don't sit on it.In that it is rated X-large, probably Roadpro has a smaller size, I just found out:RoadPro RPHB-70SG 12-Volt 57 x 27Model #: RPHB-70SGfrom $23.79$10.49 ShippingNewEgg has the smaller size. The material is soft and comfortable; you can somewhat feel the heat wires inside, but they are not annoying.I have run this off of a DC 12 Volt jump-start device for jump-starting cars. I just plug it into the built-in cigarette lighter style socket. But I have ordered from Ebay a power supply for it. You can get something on Ebay for about $8 or less, which will power this, like a laptop computer "power supply adaptor." I opted for a $15 Xbox adaptor, which puts out 130 Watts max.It warms my legs nicely. I think it cuts off automatically in 20 minutes, not sure.As to the 1 star horror stories. I guess you can get a lemon. But some of the horror stories may be the result of wrong operation or common rough/careless treatment of things in a car. You must not fold this blanket over or bunch it up, or you may accumulate too much heat and have a fire. It has to be spread out, one layer. I doubt that it will stand up to rough treatment, a lot of smashing or hard-flexing back and forth as you would to break a wire on purpose. Don't slam the car door on it or step on it. Don't let your dog chew it.I have an auto cigar lighter style socket attached to my chair into which I push the cigar lighter style plug. To turn it off, I just pull the plug out slightly, & to turn on, I push it hard into the socket.I used this in the annex to my home, sort of a den, with a concrete floor. When not using this blanket I would through it on the floor, which was hopefully relatively clean. However, I have found that this blanket loves hairs, mine and those of my two big dogs who spend some time with me in here each day. So the blanket is now loaded with hairs. It might be a delight for someone with trichotillomania or provide a safe outlet for this mania. So I have some hair-pulling /removal to do. Now you won't throw it on a hairy floor will you?
