Just be warned, if you need to split large rocks to make building material, you will need more than just 6 of these. One wedge for every 8 inches or so of spilt length. Otherwise, these are easy to use with a hammer and SDS plus drill motor. Just drill holes every 8 inches in a straight line, completely around the rock if you can and drive the wedges in with even and moderate force. No need for full force blows as that will just cause the stone to crack in directions that will ruin your work. These wedges are made of strong and heat treated steel that will last years with proper use.

I really like these splitting wedges. They are easy to use, the steel holds up well, and I like that the correct size bit is included. You'll also need an appropriate drill and hammer. The first time you gently tap the wedges into the feathers and the rock pops apart it feels like magic.Don't overdo the individual hits and work the wedges in evenly. If you've drilled well and keep the pressure even it does a great job at splitting stone.
