Toy chest for grand daughter, ideal for the concerns of finger pinch with only 2 hinges. Used the 30 lb hinges; lid stays where you put it. Was afraid 30 lbs to much torque for a 3 year old but just right. My only mistake on the install was not paying attention to the different screw sizes for the box vs lid, poked a pin hole threw the 3/4" lid but stoped in time for simple repair, so beware.

Exactly the perfect hinge for my son’s toy box. I was concerned about him smashing his fingers with the heavy door and these hinges keep the door open at every angle and it’s not difficult for him to shut.

It took four years (of light use) but both hinges broke apart. This is a great concept and they work - for a while. Hinges that cost this much should last a lifetime. I am very disappointed.

I used these on a pine chest, with a lid that is 18X36. The hinges were easy to install, and they work great! They are very well made, heavy, quiet, and best of all, they hold the lid open at any angle, with no need for extra hardware. I highly recommend. My only complaint is the finish, which looks a little too much like plastic for me.

This henge is awesome! I used 2 - 30s and a 40 on the lid of a toy box I made my grand-daughter, and they worked perfectly. The lid holds up in any position so there's no worry about it closing on her fingers. I mounted them with out the jig, and had no problems.

According to calculations and specifications the 30 pound hinge was ordered. the hinge did not work as stated and we had to return for a 40 pound hinge.
