If your radio has a clip that securely holds to a belt, you probably don't need this pouch. On the other hand, this clip has two sets of anti-slip wedges to keep the pouch on the belt, so it's likely more secure than the smaller clip attached to most radios. I recommend removing the radio clip before using this pouch. The clip can be set to any rotation for vertical, horizontal, or slanted attachment, and the elastic cord adequately secures the radio into the pouch at any angle. Once the angle is set and attachment screw tightened, the case does not rotate and holds the angle as set. It does not rotate freely. It is possible to back out the screw sufficiently for the case to turn on the clip, but the case is not designed to be used that way.If you need the case to rotate, consider the use of soft thread lock to keep the screw from backing out and add a thin plastic disk to disengage the teeth and provide friction. The photos with this review show the plastic disk I cut with scissors from a square plastic jar and how it is installed. Tighten the screw to achieve the desired stability. Again, if you want the radio to swing freely, secure the screw with soft (blue) thread lock or there will be a significant risk of it unscrewing with use. (Apply this modification at your own risk.)This is a versatile radio holster that will work with several sizes. I have several handheld transceivers, all of which fit securely once the radio's belt clip had been removed.

I do not like this radio holder at all. The quality of the construction is low, it's just fake plastic leather and a chintzy plastic MOLLE clip on the back. The pouch is also weirdly large, it's much larger than it looks in the picture yet the pouch for the radio is not very deep and it still ends up being a *very* tight and clumsy fit. The sizing also makes it not suitable for any other radios, which I was hoping it would fit some of my other HTs.I do not recommend this at all, it's not good.

For the Amateur Radio Operator or Volunteer FF etc.:The quality of this holster is very good for the price. The plastic belt clip is adjustable and can be angled. For security and reserve officers this unit will look very professional and functional.I have included pictures of several Ham Radios in the holster to give you an idea of how things fit.I used the Radio Stack HTX-202, the Baofeng UV-5R (Short Battery), the Baofeng DM-1701, and the AnyTone AT-D878UVII Plus. I think most Marine or Air VHF Hand-helds will fit comfortably. If you would like to see more of the screen or buttons for short radios, then I would suggest putting in a block to elevate the radio.Standard/Traditional radios and scanners will need no mods to fit into the pocket with no problem. I think will last for many years on your hip.

The holder is a little large for my radio, but it will work. The material is made to look like leather but is all plastic. The plastic is very stiff and that makes it hard to slide the radio in and out. It does have a rotating, slide-on belt clip; however, it doesn't swing freely. The rotating clip has a tight, ratchet-type joint that is hard to turn. When you sit down, the radio does not swivel. You must force the pouch to rotate to a comfortable angle, which stays at that angle when you get up. I recommend spending more to get a more functional radio pouch.

The first thing you notice about this is how sturdy it is. It is quality made and holds a radio nicely. What is generally better about this is that the radio is not going anywhere. Some radios like ours have a clip on them, which generally works, however, if you get jostled in some way, or are active going in and out of cars, etc. the radio can work loose. This has a sturdy elastic fastener that holds the radio in place.

I got this to hold my Quansheng UV-K5 hand held radio, which in size is like most of the Baofeng radios. But, the pocket is too stiff and confining, so it takes too much force to push it in and then is awkward to pull out. Also, the elastic security straps are secured with a heavy duty snap, which I dislike a lot. I much prefer Velcro. The snap is awkward to use, especially in the dark and when you press to engage it you are pushing against whatever is in the case, which you may not want to do, in which case you have to use one hand’s fingers inside the case to push out while the other hand pushes on the snap. Also, the positioning is fixed. A long Velcro patch would give you some choice about how and where you positioned the straps. The swivel function works OK. It’s a little stiff, but I think it will loosen over time. It’s a nice feature for positioning the holster for easier access when you are seated. Most of my complaints I should have seen before I selected the product and some or all of them might be deemed good things by some buyers, so I rated it 4 stars because it was well made.
