My 8-year old loves this coat. It’s stylish and can be worn over sweaters or sweatshirts without being too hot. I was afraid it would not hold up in the rain because it is really soft and does not feel waterproof. So far it has done well to keep her dry, though I suspect that if she were out in a downpour for an extended period of time it would eventually soak through. For our purposes walking back and forth to school it does the job. Great quality and it has a nice lining.
