I love this. I've had mine for 20 years now. I have repainted it with rustoleum and that works fine outside.I just ordered one for my daughter's garden.Highly recommend.

This is to replace a Rome globe that I broke, so we had the base. It’s a lovely sundial, fit the base perfectly as the Rome website stated it would. Only issue is the marker for the dial came with hardware that was the right size but the holes in the dial were too big. I could not put a washer to put on the screws as they were then too short. Thankfully I found a pair of longer screws that were the right thread and with two washers each, worked perfectly. It’s a real nice piece and my wife loves the phrase that is embossed in it. It fit right onto the base. I’d give it 5 stars if the hardware fitted better.

Sadly, the little arm that sticks up came broken. I am not surprised, there was very little packaging. I ordered it 5 weeks before Father's Day, so it is not returnable and my fault as I didn't open it to check it because I didn't realize I had a time limit. It is heavy, and nice, and I love the words, but only get it if you want a stepping stone.

I bought this for my wife for our sixth wedding anniversary and she LOVES it. It is made to be put on a pedestal, so the bottom isn't flat, but that wasn't a problem at all for me. I wanted to put it on a stump of a tree we cut down in our yard, so all it took was a little cutting into the stump and it looked awesome.

I have now used this cast iron sun dial for more than a year and am completely happy with it. It has held up well through both the challenges of the summer and the winter and looks like it will continue to be in my garden for many years to come.

the underside of the sundial is not flat making it very difficult to mount, and after one week outside it began to rust.
