It’ll go around branches as small as your wrist up to tree trunks as large as the circumference of the entire device to be used as an anchor position for any type of climbing line. Once the climb is complete, simply tie an overhand knot in the end of your rope and reel in the entire system! Note: Connecting throwline to overhand knot will retrieve the AFS in a controlled manner. Tried a friction saver on a tree trunk but the closest I could get the rings was about 14 inches. The rope rubbed across those 14 inches of the trunk, wasn't happy. Tried this one and the rings can touch, if you want (but not recommended.)Put rescue rope through the small ring and tie an overhand knot. Attach the large ring on my belt and climb. When ready to use it I detach the large ring and swing it around the trunk and thread the knot through the large ring and tie a figure 8. Works great.It can also be used as a backup flip line. 2 uses, 1 rope
