Keeps me dry when I'm feeding the animals and in the rain. Big enough for me. I'm a big dude. 6'2" and alot of Thanksgivings covers plate carrier and stuff easy too. Way better than the cheap ones I used to use.

On my farm I have to take care of my animals rain or shine and I have spent a lot of time getting soaked to the bone arguing with a recalcitrant goose who would rather stand out in the rain. A good poncho was definitely on my long list of things that I always needed but for one reason or another just never seemed to have. This Rothco poncho is very much like what the military has used for a long time. It is a rubberized sort of material on the outside and a sheer sort of fabric on the inside that seems pretty durable so far. I really like that it doesn't stick to your skin. If you enjoy being wrapped in saran wrap this may not be for you. It has brass grommets in all 4 corners if you want to make it into a shelter. I am a pretty big guy and if it fit me it will almost certainly fit you. My one complaint which really hasn't been a problem is that the snaps on the sides are plastic. I would have preferred snaps made of stainless steel. Of course, if you are worried about being spotted by people using night vision while operating in your mom's basement then perhaps the plastic green ones are for you. I thought that the price was reasonable for the quality. If you don't want to get wet and don't particularly enjoy wearing a disposable shower curtain then try out one of these. I expect this one to last for a long time.

Since Vietnam, I've owned the military's rubberized/cloth version of a rain poncho with a military poncho liner. Back in the day, we would cut head holes in the center of the liner and attach the liner to the poncho just like we do for a sleeping blanket. This works great as a cold and wet weather outer covering. These come in handy as a rain suit, weather shelter, and weatherproof insulated poncho in cooler weather. Just like my time on patrol on military maneuvers, when I'm hunting and the rain starts, I just don the poncho and hunker down next to something, with my rifle across my lapp under the poncho, and sit out the storm. Once the storm"s done, I continue on with my hunting. I consider this poncho setup as a mandatory part of my survival gear. I've tried using the cheaper PVC poncho versions, but they tear apart in the field making them useless.

It was 70% rubber, 30% PVC. This makes it much less supple than rubber.Also it lacks the shine shown in the photo.
