Bought it to install a 35" spare tire on a 2018 JL. Instructions provided in the package are terrible, but there are plenty of videos online from the vendor showing how to install the bracket. Very simple operation that doesn't take more than one hour (if you have the proper tools).Rock solid!

I made a simple step from a 31” to 33” spare tire. It did not clear with the factory mount, as expected. I got this, which I thought was the same product a friend has, and discovered that there’s a big difference. Maybe 3 or 4 inches more of vertical relocation than the one my friend got. There’s a huge difference in visibility of vehicles or anything else behind me between the two set-ups. I often discover there is a car following me that I can’t even see out of my rear view mirror and I don’t like that at all. I don’t have this issue with the bracket that only raised the spare about an inch or two. Ultimately if I knew how it would be, I would have found some other alternative for my larger spare mount. As it is, there’s no adjustability on this and I thought about just adding new holes and getting my own nuts behind the plate for bolts but the bottom is a closed assembly so while I could reach in with a nut inside of a combination wrench, for example, to reach the top holes, this would be a bit more challenging with the lower holes. Sadly, the friend’s item is no longer available and I’m kind of stuck with this one until I figure out or find some other solution. If you need to install a considerably larger tire or don’t care if you can see a vehicle behind you in your rear view, there’s nothing wrong with this plate. It’s nicely made. I just wish I was more informed about how high this raises the tire so I put in my feedback for someone else in my position.

And we’re back!! Rough County spare tire adapter plate gets 5 stars!! This thing is solid and easy to install. It’s ready for 35” tires too when the time comes. Other reviews are misleading with issue about hardware and stuff. Just use the factory bolts to attach the adapter plate to the Jeep and then use the included hardware to reattach the carrier to the plate. Reroute the wiring harness to the brake light and you’re done! Took me less than 30 mins and torqued all the bolts to 20 ft lbs. Done!

This product just raises the tires. Covers the rear windshield. I can't see if there is a car behind me when driving. I installed 35" tires. When I use this product, the tires will vibrate when I close the door. I checked The screws are tight. It will not shake before installing this. It will shake after installing. I would like to ask what is the benefit of this?

My new steel bumper is thicker where the spare meets it. I used washers as spaces as a temporary fix until this arrived. I know a lot of people knock the Rough Country products but this one fit the bill perfectly, it was easy to install, looks nice, and was priced reasonably. Instructions were provided via a QR code. They included pictures and step by step instructions that were easy to understand. All the hardware was included so I didn't have to run to the hardware store for missing bolts etc. Straight forward install took 20 minutes to complete with the right tools. I used a cordless impact driver and drill with a torx bit to speed things up. It looks nice and that atrocious RC they have to put on all their products is hidden by the spare tire. My spare is now well above the bumper and out a little further. 33" Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT.

I was going to send it back but decided to drill them out and re thread instead of waiting a week for a replacement. Overland not bad but you may have same problem as me

This does what it’s supposed to do. But you will need to extend your tailgate bump stops after you install this

Super easy to install, the only issue I had was the back up camera didn’t have enough wire to extend out so ended up zip tie it up for now

Worked perfect on my 2022 Wrangler JL 392 (35” K02). Install was very easy, and it worked with my Mopar tailgate reinforcement system. This bracket is very sturdy and very well made. My 35” now fits easily with room to spare.

After installing some 17 X 9 Rims with a 5+ backspacing wrapped in 35x12.50 tires, on my Jeep JLU, something needed to be done for the tire carrier. Carrier options are limited and pricy as this is a new vehicle and I wanted a trusted brand, as an overloaded carrier is a great way to lose a tire.Rough Country seemed to check all blocks, and for apx 70 dollars seemed to be the best option. The metal is strong and coated well black with a texture, does NOT come with any seals or gaskets which I don't like but hopefully it will be ok. They provide bolts and directions though the bolts are OK, the directions are rubbish's, and I would recommend watching one of the vids about installation. Install time with proper hand tools is less than 40 mins and that is with aligning this thing properly.You can retain the factory camera and use non OEM wheels (check fitment) but you may get a little rim tubing effect where you see the inside of the rim it in the cam and lines might not be 100% on distance (still dam close).Pros:AffordableEasy to installRetain stock lookFits 35 NPCons:DirectionsBolts provided round easily.Would buy again and recommended at this point. ALSO NOTE I did NOT get any tools with this only Bolts and washers, other reviews who said you just needed to bring the wrench, maybe on earlier kits but two other people I know ordered this and did not get anything but bolts and brackets. Make sure to have a tool kit! Don't just bring a ratchet and think you will install, also need the cam security key.
