Very good quality paper in different colours and a thin paper covering sheet per page. The paper is great for pastels but does have quite a rough "bumpy" surface. It gives it a good key for the pastels but a little more difficult to place fine detail.

Ideal for inktense pencils but too rough surface for fine detailed method in pastel pencils. So if you are like me and like fine detailed work then rather buy paper with a slightly smoother surface than this particular pad. Lovely colours though.

I was very disappointed in the quality of the paper. It had no grit and will not hold pastels well. I will not be able to use this paper for my work. I will give it to grandchildren who will use it for play.
