As far as I can tell, it tightens up on the stem ok. Unfortunately, on my faucet the metal stem is loose in the ball of the valve. I replaced these parts a few months ago to fix a leaky faucet, and my new stem (NOT THIS PRODUCT) is loose. So I'm giving it 5 stars.See photo. If you have a delta faucet a stem shaped like the one in the photo, this handle should work for you.
