VHF 1/2 Wave No Ground Plane (NGP) Antenna (VHF 144-174 Mhz)
The best VHF antenna for Work, Race, or Play! We've manufactured this GO FURTHER antenna for optimum performance in the VHF range of frequencies. Its wide-band technology makes this antenna plug-and-play for all VHF applications.
This "No Ground Plane" 1/2 wave base loaded antenna does not have to be attached to a metal surface (such as a vehicle roof or larger body panel.) Although using a ground plane is always better, this NGP antenna performs great for all uses, drivers, teams, and applications.
The molded high heat ABS mounting base features silver soldered connections, gold plated push pin contacts and O-ring.

I didn’t trim it to the 150.00000-160.00000 VHF length and the reception is still good. Good value for the money payed for it. Easy to install as long as you have a NMO mount. Description says 39.5in it definitely is that long.

Great antenna, low swr for entire VHF band, I would like to have a more accurate measurement before I purchased it. Mine is almost exactly 40 inches from the grey base to the ball at the top of the whip (while assembled) base itself feels solid and the Whip seems well made.It is still early but I’ll update this review if I have anything else to add.

The product is well made. the listing shows it to be 144-174 mhz, however, when it arrived it says that to cover that range you might have to buy another whip? That is pure BS! They could have included a longer whip with instructions of where to cut it for a higher frequency. As shipped this can not do what they sold it to do. Don't buy this antenna for 2 meters (144 mhz) as it's too short.The seller responded with an offer to provide a longer whip. I said that was fine. He never followed thru.You have the choice of who you buy from. The next time I’ll look for a name brand like Metz, Shakespeare or Hustler.
