I have a 1994 Honda Accord. The OEM part number is 54132-S84-A81 which this product claims to be an aftermarket copy of. It might work in later year models, but did not work with my car at all. Didn't want to pay the factory part price, so took off about a1/32" and got the button to where it wouldn't jam in the hole in the shift knob. Thought I had it rigged, Nope. Even when it modified to fit and function in the hole, the gear mechanism didn't function properly. Played the aftermarket cheap part gamble and it took my lunch and laughed at me. Since it was modified, I can't in good conscience return it and potentially screw someone else. Will go replace it with a super expensive OEM. Waste of both time and money.

My spring broke on my 99 Accord, installed button and spring & they fit right in but it did not let me fully engage into park enough to take the key out of ignition. Put the OEM button in and worked no problem. Really only made use of the spring.

It is a very simple install and didn't take more than a few minutes. The button is a little shorter than the original but it will still work. The dimensions are off for a 100% perfect fit, so I would advise to be careful when you align the slit along the bottom half of the shifter with the button because it can cause the button to become stuck if it comes out of alignment slightly. This happened to me but you can use a thin flathead to push the groove back into alignment and still have it be functioning.Like I said previously, it's not a knob that was made for a '97 and you will be able to tell based off of the internal dimensions of the shifter but I was not able to find a knob made for 97 accords anywhere else online or at least at this small of a price. So it works if you are having a difficult time finding the exact knob for a 97.

Easy install and a perfect fit for my 1999 Honda Accord. I do highly recommend watching a YouTube video for tricks and tips before dismantling your shifter knob. Also be sure to keep pressure on the side of the knob and the spring is so tight that the piece will fly right out of the car if you aren’t paying attention. Really though it took about 30 seconds with a short Phillips screwdriver. Perfect fit for this car!

After watching a video on YouTube I decided to do it myself because it looked so easy. I have a 2000 Honda Accord EX. I ordered the part from Amazon and followed the instructions on the video. I removed two screws from the gear shift lever and the handle slid right off. I pulled out the broken part, put the new button in, slid the handle back on the lever and put the two screws back in. It literally took me 2 minutes. It fits and works perfectly.

despite answers stating that this product does not fit the 1997 Honda Accord, it actually does. Installed without Lithium grease, I Will take it apart again and that when I find my tube. Takes less than 5 minutes to install, remove 2 screws at the base of the shifter, lift straight up, insert the spring and button, hold the button in and slide the shifter back down and reinstall the screws.
