These look, feel, and weigh like brass nuts, not copper ones. The color is a rough surfaced dark yellow bronze color, and the casting or spitting process leaves them with both an uneven bottom and one which is jagged and smaller than round diameter. They are not reddish copper colored as they should be. The base of these is not wide enough to grasp/cover wire ends below it as the wing nuts on marine batteries do so effectively. These are also a bit smaller in size than expected. They jagged under edge will tend to rub and scrape against copper wire loops used to anchor them to battery studs. I'm going to have to use copper washers to properly anchor the wires.
