I ordered this yeast for the dunkelweizen I brewed after my liquid yeast was clearly dead. This yeast was great! Fermentation seemed like it was done within 3 days. Very healthy yeast. I’ll order again. Shipping was very fast.

Super fast shipping..Bought in August of 17 and this is fresh yeast... package expiration is September of 2018.Have used this before and gives nice light banana ester to a hefeweizen like traditional German hefeweizens I've had when I lived in Germany. If I can't get wyeast 3056 then I go with this yeast... I always make a 1liter starter with liquid or dry yeast and never have a problem.

Made a Hefeweizen that turned out awesome, it was about 50/50 wheat/pale malt, 20 ish IBU. I fermented with this yeast at about 72°F and brought up the banana aroma and flavor with not too much clove. Next time I'll be fermenting colder to get clove aroma and taste and then ramping up to balance it with banana. Nice yeast, and worked very well even re-using it.

Although this was dated 2-2015, it wasn't clear if that was expy or packing date. I was impressed with how quickly it was fermenting, within 1/2 hr this was clearly active straight from package into the wort. No "starting" fermentation required. Making a simple wheat ale using some chinook hops grown in my backyard.
