Without snow, the actual "Ice melt" melts & disappears from the walkways if I spread it down way too soon befirecthe snow hits it, then I have to pour more out onto the walkways again. It's happened to me twice.

I like this product, but as a previous reviewer noted: (the snow melt) "comes in the Fort Knox of buckets and cannot get in without an ordeal"

This snow melt product burned my dogs feet just standing on it for a few seconds. She was screaming until I was able to get her off it and wash her feet. This is not pet safe!

Woks well and is safe for my dog to walk on. I just keep a red plastic cup (you now the one you drink beer out of tailgating?) in the bucket and sprinkle it on the steps. Voila, no more ice!
