This item is a white elephant that is actually very useful. I don't know why there is not a bigger selection of these. It's very sturdy and the hit of the gate is quite silent.

no reason for the high price of this item. Won't work for our application either because the catch lip was smaller than expected.

It was a big solid gate stop, worked great for my mighty mule. Mounted right to the pavers.

I was hesitant to buy this because I have a gravel driveway and didn't know if it would with. But so far it has been great. The automatic opener on my gate was having trouble because if it was windy out the wind would push the gate a little outward and mess up the lock mechanism. But this is just enough to keep the gate in place to keep that from happening except when it's REALLY windy. I bought some stakes from someone else and they work ok, although they'd probablywork better if they were a little longer. The only thing that would make this better is if they would suggest what size stakes to get.
