I ordered the "Salad Spinner Large-5.3 Qt Vegetables Fruits Wash Spinner Bowl,Lettuce Spinner Dryer with 5 Blades,Egg Yolk Strainer Slicer Shredder for Kitchen Colander,Pasta and Fries Spinner-Green."I absolutely love how versatile and well made this multi use salad spinner is.The base of the bowl has a silicone ring to help keep it in place, and the spinner has a "stop" button for when you are finished spinning the veg.I removed the basket, rinsed out the bowl part and dumped the lettuce back in, then used the second lid and the mandolin to slice carrots, cucumbers, and cheese into the bowl.I removed the lid, added my bacon crumbles and sliced hard boiled egg and served the salad directly in the bowl.I found out the hard way that the blades on the mandolin are, indeed, sharp. I lost a chunk of my knuckle while testing. (Save yourself the trouble and use the guard. It works without issues.)I love that the clear bowl looks nice enough to serve the salad in. Also, I've used three different salad spinners and this one is the best out of all of them. They really thought out the design on how to get the most use out of the product.

As a salad spinner, to dry leafy greens such as lettuce, spinach, etc, this works great. The spinner top has a drainage port and a stop button that immediately stops the inner basket from spinning. The ease of turn the handle to spin the contents is about the same as all the others, easy enough, and you can turn it in either direction. I used this spinner to dry off beet greens (*see below) from my garden, and it worked great. Give the crank a few turns, stop it drain it and turn in opposite direction, drain it and your leafy greens are gently freed of excess water. This bowl comes with an additional top with changeable inserts for slicing and shredding veggies, plus another insert for squeezing citrus. It also comes with a veggie holder to protect your fingers while slicing. I have mixed opinions about the functionality of these slicing and shredding blades.Using this device for slicing feels a bit clumsy, significant force is needed to push the veggies back and forth over the blade, and care must be taken to prevent the bowl from toppling over. I don't know if the blades are just not that sharp or if it's the design of the unit but I wasn't overly impressed. The blades include 2 different thicknesses of slicing, 1 for wavy cuts, and 2 sizes of shredding. To show you better than I could explain, I have included photos showing what each blade produces from a potato. Of these different blades, most produced good results, the thinner slicer is in my opinion, useless unless you want paper thin shavings. The 2 different shredder blades and the thicker slicer produced excellent results and the wavy blade produced slices that I thought were too thin, but you may like that. Using the hand protector/veggie holder is awkward. It does have protrusions on both sides to keep it within the sliding area, but it doesn't grip veggies very well and seems cumbersome to use.If you don't have any sort of juicer, the juicer insert may work for you, but I didn't even test that since I have a wonderful electric citrus juicer, but if you're making a salad and just want to throw some lemon juice on it without digging out your juicer, well, you have that option. This lid also has a built in egg separator and an area for zesting.Overall, the feature ideas of this unit are great but the quality is not the greatest. The spinner works fine, no problem there, as for the slicing, most of the blades work fine, but a lot of force is needed to push the veggies over the blades. This unit does clean up well, and everything stores inside the main bowl. Going forward, I will use this as a greens spinner, and will use a few of the blades. I've given my honest opinion of the functionality of this unit after using it several times, so that you have that information and can decide if this is the right unit for you.* Now, about those beet greens, cut the red stems out, rinse leaves well, dry with a salad spinner. Sauté diced onion and garlic in butter then add the greens and cook over med-low heat till reduced down like spinach does. These taste fabulous and are good for you!

This is a really great salad spinner that does a whole lot more. I like when things can multitask and this is one of those items. It has a nice rubber gasket on the bottom for anti-slipping. The blades are very sharp and I like that they can only snap into the unit in one direction so you won’t wrong, put them in incorrectly. You can also store everything inside the main compartment and the second disc can be on top so this can be a space saver as well. The spinner is called large but my old salad spinner is actually larger with a push pump top and I found that my old one is easier to use, but this one has a hand crank.Which also does the job. I did find that it was a little wonky to spin if it does sit exactly correctly with the strainer below. You might have to put it on/off a couple times until it spins smoothly. (For that reason, I took off a star in the rating) I also like that the pusher is two pieces. You can use it with the gripper or without, depending on what vegetable you will be slicing. I will probably give away my old one (even though I like it more) because I really like that this can do many things and multitask in my kitchen.

I finally got around to using this today. I used a few of the different attachments to make a salad. The 2 that have solid blades work the best, but be VERY CAREFUL, the blades are VERY SHARP. I sliced peppers, celery, and cucumber, and I used the 2 solid blades to get different thicknesses on the vegetable slices. I know the listing doesn't say anything about cheese, but I tried it anyway at the request of my 6 year old who really wanted sliced cheese in the moment. It doesn't work for cheese haha.Overall I would definitely recommend this! I really like all the attachments that go with it, although I likely won't use all of them for a while yet, the solid blade ones work just fine for most everything I need.
